- Cabinet:
- Acoustically Centered Time Alignment architecture.
- Acoustically-centered architecture orients the mid-range and woofer arrays in rotational-symmetry around the tweeter, ensuring that low, mid, and high-frequencies emanate from the same effective point in space, creating a coherent, integrated, faithful acoustic image.
- Time-aligned cabinet geometry introduces microsecond-level time delays between the drivers, ensuring that the effective acoustic-center of each driver is equidistant from the listener. The result is improved linearity and directionality throughout the crossover frequencies, and a more accurate soundstage.
- Quad 6.5” woofers in Force-Balanced Opposed Array energize any room with deep, accurate, evenly distributed bass, while contributing a net-zero vibration force to the cabinet and other components.
- Dual 4.5” midrange drivers share a dedicated acoustic-suspension enclosure, symmetrical around the tweeter.
- Chamfered front baffle and flush-mounted drivers reduce edge diffraction and improve on-axis and off-axis high-frequency response
- Extra-thick 1” (25mm) driver baffles ensure a rigid, resonance-free mounting for all drivers.
- FEA-optimized ¾” (18mm) cabinet construction, extensive bracing, and acoustic insulation eliminate acoustic and structural resonances, ensuring an inert enclosure and an uncolored response, even at the highest drive levels.
Product Description
The SVS Ultra Evolution Titan Speakers are slightly smaller than the flagship Pinnacle model but still boast stunning performance. Four 6.5” woofers are placed in a back-to-back configuration for punchy base, moreover, there are two 4.5” midrange units and a centrally placed 1” tweeter.
Another advanced feature is the curved baffle. This ensures that the sound from each driver arrives at the listening position at the same time. The maximum power handling is 300 watts.
Curved baffle ensures accurate sound
The front of the SVS Ultra Evolution Titan Speaker features a curved baffle. As a result, each of the drivers sits at a different distance from the listener. This has the effect of correcting the timing so that the sound acts as a point source. The phase coherence is corrected resulting in a convincing and immersive sound. It also creates more accurate imaging.
Aluminium domed tweeters for stunning highs
In the centre of the SVS Ultra Evolution Titan Speakers front baffle sits a 1” aluminium domed tweeter. The cone has a thin coating of diamond carbon applied by vapour deposition. This has the effect of improving the rigidity and acoustic performance. Consequently, the high frequency extends well beyond the human hearing range.
The result is a sound presentation that is airy and clear. Moreover, the lower frequency response is extended. This improves the matching with the midrange unit. Finally, the lattice tweeter diffuser aids with high-frequency dispersion.
Four opposed woofers for stunning bass
The SVS Ultra Evolution Titan Speakers feature two opposing woofers. The woofers sit at the top and bottom of the cabinet. As a result, the bass is optimized and the effect of room modes is minimized. This ensure that there are no dead spots in the listening room where bass is reduced.
Back-to-back woofers also reduce colouration and resonances for a clean and punchy sound. Finally, having two midrange units boosts the performance and dynamics in the all-important vocal range.
Advanced cabinet and crossover design
The beautiful cabinet of the SVS Ultra Evolution Titan Speakers has internal chambers behind the drivers. This has the effect of isolating the bass and midrange units. As a result, mutual interference and resonances are reduced. The sound is sweet and clear.
Next, the crossover uses top-quality components and blends the sound from the drivers into a coherent whole. Lastly, the drivers feature a Precision-cast aluminium alloy basket that ensures the cones are correctly placed.
Crossover design
The three-way design of the SVS Ultra Evolution Titan Speakers requires a well-designed crossover. This is important to ensure a flat frequency response. The crossover is used to split the audio band into three components for feeding to each individual driver set.
This is achieved by using capacitors and inductors to create a set of filters. The crossover is usually designed by computer so that each crossover frequency is optimized. Lastly, polypropylene capacitors are used as they have a long life and will not drift in value or go leaky over time.
Who are SVS?
