Streaming music has rapidly become a very popular choice for music lovers as part of a good sounding hi-fi system, thanks to huge improvements in streaming sound quality and the wealth of music available. The term "streaming" basically refers to the fact that you're playing music from a digital device stored elsewhere - be it your NAS drive (which can store your CD collection, high res files and other music), from online services (Tidal, Spotify, Apple Music, or the thousands of internet radio stations available), or from files stored your Mac or PC (iTunes or Media Player). Even if you have a large vinyl collections, you can "rip" these onto your Mac or PC for easy access at the touch of a button.

In 2000, Arnaud Laborie, Sebastien Montoya and Remy Bruno joint forces to launch a research focusing on 3D sound which lead to the first working test of a fully functional 3rd-order 3D audio chain. Within 2 years, Trinnov Audio won an award from the French Ministry for Research as one of the most innovative young companies of the year. They went on to publish their first scientific paper for the AES Convention in Amsterdam: A New Comprehensive Approach of Surround Sound Recording and introduction of the SRP surround recording solution at the AES Convention in Berlin (2004). In 2005, the revolutionary Optimiser surround monitoring solution was introduced featuring Trinnov’s loudspeaker/room optimisation technology at the AES Convention in Barcelona.

Between 2006 to 2009, some of the world's largest post production facilities such as Fox Studios (LA), Cinephase, Teletota, Cine Stereo, Dovidis, Jackson (Paris), Cineplus (Cologne) installed the optimiser. Music studios globally also began to adopt the Optimiser like Mc Gill University, Studios La Majeure, Vienna Fine Arts Academy, Sinus AV, Studio Odéon 120 and Tonstudio Beusch. In the following two years, Trinnov introduced the ST2 Pro and ST2 HiFi Stereo Processor and speaker/room optimiser as well as the MC Processor multichannel monitoring platform and Orion & Pegase Digital Cinema Processors. The first installation of the Supervizer broadcast audio quality probe took place at TF1 and Trinnov welcomed many high profile customers including Toho Studios (Tokyo), Technicolor, Boulogne Mixing Theaters, Joinville Mixing Theaters, RFI (Paris), Swedish State Opera (Stockholm), VBW, GTHP OB vans, KBS and SVT.

In recent years, Trinnov has continued to develop innovative solutions that improve the quality of sound throughout the production chain until the end listener introducing the new Altitude series, the Amethyst preamplifier, magnitude 32 for premium hifi set-ups and Ovation audio processor for digital cinema. They also expanded their customer base to include more well-respected names in the industry including Super Audio Mastering (UK), UGC movie theaters (France), Dubbing Brothers and Titra Films (Paris) and Prime Focus (London).


Melco are dedicated to designing and manufacturing the very best possible solutions for digital music storage, ripping and networking for audio. Melco stands for Maki Engineering Laboratory Company and the company was founded in japan, by Makoto Maki. From 1975 the company designed and developed the finest audio components of the time. 1980 saw the release of a turntable that set new standards of fidelity and design. Later they moved into computer peripherals, which used extensive research and innovation, to make Melco market leaders. The product range included wireless routers, Ethernet data switches and storage devices such as NAS drives. They became the largest peripherals manufacturer in Japan.

Melco’s audio background and history, make them the ideal company to make audio specific networking equipment, such as network switches, music libraries and shielded Ethernet cables. Melco music libraries: a music library refers to a device that has masses of storage for digital files, as well as network connectivity. Melco makes a range of high-end digital libraries with either a 3.84 TB SSD or a 2TB HD, built in. They are designed to be used with an external DAC or DAC equipped amplifier. They connect to a home network via Ethernet. Moreover, kits are available, so that you can connect the music libraries to an optical network.

Network switches: another speciality of Melco is audio specific network switches. These use top quality components to make network switches that have a much better noise performance than off-the-shelf switches. These are designed for a much cleaner environment for delicate audio files. A weak point of any Ethernet network is the cabling, normality this is not shielded and can act as an aerial, picking up all kinds of noise. Melco makes high grade cables with innovative shielding and larger than normal conductors.
