Product Description
The Pro-ject Perspective Final edition turntable is released as new version of the classic 1999 Perspective turntable from Pro-Ject that was the first high-end turntable in the range. The Pro-ject Perspective Final edition turntable has had several upgrades that make it the best possible. Hence the “final edition”.
The original Perspective was renowned as one of the best turntables of all time. The new version uses a more accurate electronic speed control. There is also an all-new one-piece carbon fibre tonearm. Moreover, the turntable comes with a high-end Ortofon 2M Bronze cartridge. Lastly, A personalized certificate of ownership is also provided.
Limited edition of 400
The new Pro-Ject Perspective Final edition turntable comes as a limited run of 400 units and has been re-engineered with modern components and techniques. The design uses the “isolated” principle with the tonearm mounted on an isolated sub-chassis.
The transparent plinth is maintained and three adjustable springs decouple the sub-chassis. There are also height-adjustable spikes that isolate the unit from the environment.
Electronic speed control
The original Perspective used multiple motors for speed control. However, the new Pro-ject Perspective Final edition turntable uses a sophisticated electronic speed control along with a robust belt. The motor runs at two speeds. Moreover, the unit comes with a high-end Ortofon 2M Bronze cartridge that is mounted on a nine-inch carbon fibre tonearm. Lastly, the is a dust cover and a personalized certificate of ownership provided.
Why carbon fibre tonearms?
Pro-ject pioneered carbon fibre tonearms. First with just the arm and then with a carbon fibre tonearm with an integrated headshell. Carbon fibre is more rigid and lighter than steel and gets the most out of a good cartridge. The main advantage is lower mass, the material also tends to damp out any vibration.
The Ortofon 2M Bronze cartridge
An Ortofon 2M Bronze cartridge comes with the Project Perspective Final edition turntable. this is a high-end moving magnet design with a Nude Fine Line diamond stylus. The fine line stylus will track even the highest frequency information and is a good match for a carbon fibre tonearm.
The tip is also designed to reduce distortion and record wear. The internal wiring is silver plated and the cartridge is light in weight. The upgrade path for the cartridge would be to use a moving coil type. These are designed to track high frequencies better than a moving magnet type as the stylus itself has a lower mass.
