Product Description
Pathos InPol Ear is a high end Class A headphone amplifier (with optional DAC) based around a fully balanced design and latest generation double InPol technology. The dual-match valve/headphone meets the highest quality of the sound enabled by the tubes with a low power demand that is typical of headphones.
Listening by headphones through this amplifier, is the beginning of a route in search of the fullness of sound, as conveyed by InPol. The InPol technology improves high-end extent, which has a strong nature, which is also due to the addition of two balanced outputs (10W @16O) and one unbalanced output (6W @16O).
Optional HiDac
The original optional HiDAC 24-bit/192kHz internal D/A converter module adds two balanced (XLR), two coaxial (S/PDIF), and one digital (USB 2.0) connections. The latest upgraded HiDac Mk2 DAC now works at 32 bit and 384KHz, which is thanks to the new converter (ESS 9018 k) which improves and ensures the listener enjoys the digital recordings as the original artist intended.
This DAC incorporates a web application letting you control the DAC through a PC as well as to connect a hard disk and a Wi-Fi dongle directly to the unit transforming into a music centre. HiDac Mk2 also makes it possible to connect to your wireless network eliminating the need for cables running around the room.
InPol System
InPol (Inseguitore Pompa Lineare - Linear Pump Follower) is a hugely successful and multi-award winning system patented by Pathos Acoustics. Devices that use Inpol technology have a particular circuit design, that results in exceptional audio character personality. The design is fully balanced in Class A with a single solid state component in a follower configuration, with high current gain and with voltage gain together.
Valve Amplifier
The valve amplifier enhances the input signals voltage and InPol supplies the current that drives the speakers without any extra amplification. In this way, the signal is entrusted to the valves and becomes a true copy of the original with all the quality, purity and harmonic content intact.
The amplifier has been designed in such a way, that it increases the theoretical output in pure Class A (between 25% and 50%0, which together with low output impedance, fundamental for the damping factor, and further improved by the double InPol.
Construction
The InPol Ear headphone amp is neat and compact, with a top visual aesthetic, but it is also powerful. The InPol Ear is a perfect amplifier for fans of headphone listening, the chassis is carefully and meticulously crafted, with aluminium heatsinks on the sides, shaped in the form of the Pathos logo. The side heatsinks highlight the carefully protected tubes situated in the middle of the chassis.
This amplifier is handmade in Italy and crafted with high-quality electrical components, the result is an amplifier that not only performs exceptionally but also looks amazing too. Available in different colours and with customised finishes, so you can choose the overall aesthetic you want from you amplifier.
