Product Description
The Matrix Audio Element S Streamer is a high-end streamer with a USB DAC output. It also has a number of digital outputs that can be fed to any of the older types of DACs. It adds streaming capability to your system if you already have a stand-alone or integrated DAC.
Notably, There are two Matrix Audio apps that can be used with this unit, the MA player app and the MA remote app. These provide maximum versatility. However, there is also a large touchscreen interface on the device itself.
Next, every type of digital output is provided, that can connect to any type of DAC. Lastly, a discrete WIFI aerial is built in and there is also a wired Ethernet connector.
Control playback with MA player from Matrix Audio
MA player is an app designed by Matrix Audio that makes using the Matrix Audio Element S Streamer simple. With this system, smartphones or tablets can control the streamer and browse or play music. Music can be stored on network drives or USB storage devices. Moreover, you can also stream from remote servers using Roon, DLNA, UpnP, Airplay2, Spotify Connect, and Tidal Connect. This lets you experience HI-res audio via your home network.
High resolution touch screen UI
The Matrix Audio Element S Streamer features a high-resolution 3.46” touch screen that displays track information as well as the resolution of the playing file. You can then easily operate the device and the displayed metadata includes, album art, album name, track title, and artist.
USB DAC interface
The best possible DAC connection is via USB. This provides better performance than optical or coaxial connectors. The USB connection on the Matrix Audio Element S Streamer feeds high-resolution PCM or DSD audio data straight to a compatible DAC.
This is a bit perfect stream that will enable high-quality online and local streaming to your existing system.Additionally, the power feed from the USB port has its own 5v 1 A power supply. This uses a multistage ultra-low-noise regulator and ensures a better performance from the connected device.
S/PDIF outputs
Another feature of the Matrix Audio Element S Streamer is the premium S/PDIF output. This will work with any DAC that uses Optical or Coaxial inputs. The output can be 24bit/ 192kHz PCM or 1bit/DSD64. There is also a professional AES/EBU port. IIS-LVDS is also supported.
IIS-LVDS support
The Matrix Audio Element S Streamer supports IIS-LVDS. This provides a direct connection to the DAC chip bypassing the USB or other interface. The signal can be sent at up to 32bit/768kHx PCM or 1 bit/DSD512. Four kinds of pin definitions can be set via the MA remote App. Moreover, this output is isolated for noise reduction. The ground wire is isolated at each end to prevent noise transfer.
USB audio output
Computers, smartphones, or tablets can be connected to the Matrix Audio Element S Streamer via the USB audio output. These devices can then be used to send music to the streamer at high resolution. You can also control the player software on the devices via the touch key on the streamer.
Highly accurate digital clock signal.
The Matrix Audio Element S Streamer features two ultra-low phase noise femtosecond clocks from Accusilicon. Accurate clocks are needed for jitter-free playback, at the most common sampling rates. That is 44.1kHz and 48kHz and their multiples. An FPGA chip controls the clock frequencies.
Ethernet and dual band WIFI support
An embedded antenna is used by the WIFI signal of the Matrix Audio Element S Streamer. This works at both 2.4GHz and 5GHz and provides good coverage and a stable signal. However, there is also a wired Ethernet connector if required.
