Product Description

The Martin Logan Motion XT F200 Speakers are the flagship of the Motion range. It has a power handling of 600 watts, as opposed to the 400 Watts of the XT F100. This Martin Logan floor-stander is the ultimate choice for discerning audiophiles. The main features include a high output, low distortion Folded Motion tweeter, as well as a Kevlar midrange unit, and three 8” aluminium woofers.

The speakers produce dynamic bass and stunning clarity. For even more bass extension there is a bottom firing port. The frequency response is 27 Hz to 25kHz and there are three luxury finishes available, piano black, stain white and walnut. There are also adjustable feet.

The motion range

The Motion range is the culmination of a forty-year project, to produce the finest speakers possible. Decades of experience have gone into developing innovative technologies such as the Folded Motion tweeter and Kevlar or fibreglass speaker cones. The result is the classic Martin Logan sound, that provides a whole new level of quality and excellence.

The Folded motion tweeter

There are several possible tweeter designs available. The most common are the domed types these can have a fabric or metal dome. They have a good power handling capability but quite a narrow sound field. As a result, Martin Logan developed the Folded Motion tweeter. This has a larger motor magnet, and provides a higher output, with less distortion. Moreover, it has a 40% increase in surface area over its predecessor. The result is a widely dispersed, effortless and detailed sound. Outside of Martin Logan’s electrostatic speakers, the Motion XT F200 Speakers provides the most detailed sound to date.

Folded Motion waveguide

The area of the baffle that surrounds a tweeter, is known as the waveguide. This from an important part of the overall sound. Martin Logan looked at over fifty design possibilities before choosing the current profile. The square concave shape can give the best match to the bass and midrange units, with regards to dispersing the sound. This gives a consistent sound quality, regardless of the listening position.

F.A.S.T outrigger feet

The Motion XT F200 Speakers feature fast to adjust outrigger feet, that help to stabilize the speakers, on any type of floor. They are tool-less and easy to adjust. Moreover, rubber feet or spikes can be used. They also have built in anti-vibration properties. This properly isolates the speaker from the floor, to reduce booming. The result is less colouration and less distortion.

Kevlar midrange unit

The Nomex reinforced Kevlar mid-range unit displays the perfect properties for a mid-range unit. It is light in weight, strong and has anti-resonance, and anti-ringing properties. This can mean that the clarity of vocals and dialogue is unsurpassed.

Aluminium bass drivers

Aluminium is a good choice for bass drivers. It is strong and resists breakup even at high volumes. The Motion XT F200 Speakers has no less than three 8” woofer units for stunning bass. They also have oversized motor structures as well as a downward firing bass port. Upgrade to the flagship Martin Logan speakers today.
