Product Description
The Martin Logan Motion B10 Speakers have sound not typical of its size. The Gen2 FMT tweeter and Fiberglass mid-bass unit have great musicality. Moreover, this bookshelf speaker can be stand mounted. The tweeter has a wide dispersion pattern making the listening position less critical. Notably, the pillar stand (sold separately) is bolted to the base of the cabinet. However, the Motion B10 Speakers are also small enough to place on a shelf, desk or cabinet.
Martin Logan, a unique experience
Martin Logan uses advanced thin-film technologies along with controlled dispersion to deliver an unparalleled listening experience not found with other speakers. The speakers are designed to provide sound that is articulate, detailed and real. Moreover, this performance is delivered regardless of the listening environment.
Folded motion tweeter
The Motion B10 Speakers use Martin Logan’s signature thin-film tweeter technology. Notably, the latest Gen2 FMT gives a higher output as well as lower distortion than previous versions. Furthermore, fifty design options were evaluated for the waveguide. The best was found to be a Folded Motion profile. This best matches the bass / mid unit and provides a wide dispersion pattern. As a result, the sound is evenly distributed across the listening area.
Tweeter types
Tweeters come in three main types, domed, ribbon and planar magnetic. The dome tweeter can have a silk or metal dome. The sound is mellow and smooth, however the silk dome is not as durable as a metal dome. Ribbon tweeters have a wider dispersion pattern and can handle higher output powers without breaking up. Finally, planar magnetic tweeters use a diaphragm that is driven by magnets on both sides to produce a pistonic motion. They have a high performance and are often used in high-end speakers.
Woven woofer
The B10’s woven woofer is made of lightweight and strong Woven fibreglass. This unit is a good match to the folded motion tweeter. The combination provides crystal clear dialogue and vocals. As this is a two-way speaker the woofer also reproduces the midrange frequencies. The crossover frequency is around 2.1 kHz. Notably, the Bass / midrange unit does not have a centre dome. This is possible with modern materials. The dome was used to boost the high frequency output. However, this is not necessary with the Motion B10 Speakers folded motion tweeter.
Luxurious finishes
Motion speakers from Martin Logan not only embody innovative technologies but also look beautiful. The cabinets are well braced to avoid resonances. Finally, the cabinets are available in satin white, walnut or gloss black. Upgrade your audio experience with the Motion range.
