Product Description
The Luxman D-07X CD player is a top of the range unit, designed for unprecedented performance at a lower price point than the D-10X. Designed to get the best possible sound from your CD and SACD collection, the D-07X can also play external hi-res files via USB and includes the benefit of MQA compatibility
As you would expect from Luxman, D-07X features premium build quality. The mechanism is in a sealed unit to reduce vibration and the CD drawer is made of solid aluminium. The power supply uses hi-grade capacitors and an upgraded transformer. A metal bodied remote control is also provided.
High quality DAC
The DAC chip is ROHM's top-end BD34301EKV. This provides high quality digital decoding of both disk and external signals. CD and SACD are supported. You can also feed in external signals via a USB socket. The unit has a dual mono configuration and supports files up to 768kHz/23bit PCM. As well as 22.4Mhz for DSD playback.
The USB input will also play from PC’s, Mac’s and NAS drives. The dedicated software used, gets the best possible quality from any source. The clock circuity features two high-precision, low-jitter, ultra-low phase noise modules. There is also a switchable analogue filter for use with DSD or SACD playback. DSD stands for Direct stream Digital and is a hi-res format.
High build quality
The CD mechanism is mounted in it’s own, of-to-one-side, enclosure. This both shields the unit from interference and provides the shortest possible signal paths. The LxDTM-i mechanism has an integrated structure that also blocks external vibrations. As a result signal reading is stable and accurate.
The tray is made of die-cast aluminium for robustness and a long life. The high build quality eliminates vibration and resonance giving a smooth loading operation. LxDTM-i stands for Luxman Original Disc Transport Mechanism Improved, a state-of-the-art unit with high rigidity.
Power supply
The D-07X has been upgraded with a transformer that is 50% bigger than previous models. This gives more headroom and less noise. Each power line has an independent regulator block. The smoothing capacitors are hi-grade units with a high capacity. In this way, Luxman has created a high inertia power supply delivering clean and stable power. Good capacitors are important for performance and longevity. Notably, poor components can leak and damage the PCB. They also have a much shorter life. The power supply cable has been upgraded with thicker conductors and a slimmer format, that is easier to handle.
High quality design
The heavy metal case acts a shield and blocks external noise and vibration. The legs are cast and firmly support the unit, further reducing vibration pickup. There is a highly legible FL display that has a 4 x zoom mode for reading across a room. There is also an MQA indicator that glows green for an authenticated studio file and magenta for an MQA signal.
Good connectivity
The D-07X is not just a CD player. It has a USB input as well as an optical and coaxial input and output. The audio outputs include balanced XLR outputs as well as RCA outputs. Moreover, the XLR outputs are Neutrix shielded. Another upgrade is the trigger input. This allows the unit to be turned on and off by other devices. A metal bodied comprehensive remote control is also provided.
Who are Luxman?
Luxman were founded in Japan nearly 100 years ago. They have been manufacturing audio products since the dawn of radio. Later they became renowned for Hi-Fi radios and the quality of their audio parts. In 1958 stereo records arrived and the Luxman MA-7A became a well loved stereo amplifier. They continue to innovate and make high end audio products.
