Product Description
Linn Selekt DSM Classic Hub Streamer is the most configurable hi-fi streamer Linn has ever made. It's built to sound exceptional and has an upgradable modular design to suit your needs.
Firstly, You can select from two high-end enclosure designs. Next, choose from three, high-performance DACs. Finally, you can select from four configurations, for different applications. For example, you can use the Selekt as a stand-alone DAC or have it configured with an integrated amplifier. There are also TV sound and Home cinema versions.
Due to the multitude of configuration options the Selekt DSM can be tailored to exactly what you need and we don’t show all of the options online. Please contact us to discuss the various options available and we can help you find the option that perfectly suits your requirements.
The Classic Hub enclosure
First we look at the enclosure options. It also evolves with you. Classic Hub has an 8mm thick machined aluminium base. Next, a folded and powder coated aluminium casework fits around this, to give a strong base. The classic Hub has a tactile control dial as well as six programable buttons that can be used for your favourite artists, playlists or inputs. The interface is intuitive and makes using the system easy.
Connectivity
Connectivity is unapparelled, with inputs for analogue devices such as turntables. Digital connections allow you to connect any device, including Video streaming devices, games consoles and blu-ray players. Its designed to deliver the best possible sound quality from any source you connect.
Edition Hub enclosure
A step up is the Edition Hub, this is a superior design with an all machined construction. Rigidity is improved along with interior isolation. This understated luxury enclosure has concealed joints and sleek lines. The edition Hub is made of four precisely aligned plates.
Four long bolts are torqued-in to create a very rigid case with a precision fit and finish. The result is a case with the required heat management as well as a high design appeal. The decorative vent is precision machined into the top plate. It is cut in the shape of a wave and morphs and ripples in the light.
Three DACs to choose from
There is a basic DAC but first we will look at the high performance Katalyst DAC. The Katalyst DAC provides the best possible audio quality from a third party chipset. This is done by optimising all of the processes that go into digital audio. For example, the data optimization stage has a very accurate master clock. The power supply has independent power supply wells. Additionally, there is a very low distortion output driver. However, If you want the Ultimate DAC then choose the Organik.
Organik DAC
The Organik DAC is a LINN inhouse design that brooks no compromise.The Organik is a discrete design that avoids many of the pitfalls associated with this method of construction. The most important is the physical layout of the circuit board.
Next is the power supply and clocking. The PCB is an eight layer design that has multiple internal power planes. The design also ensures that the clock signal reaches all parts of the circuit at the same time. The result is an analogue signal with incredibly low levels of noise and distortion.
Three use configurations
The final thing to choose is the configuration of the unit. The first is source only. This can replace an existing streamer or form the heart of a new system. Moreover, you can use your existing amplification. Next is Source + integrated amplifiers. This gives you the convenience of a one box system with exemplary performance.
The power amplifiers are built in creating the best digital source available. There are also different amplifier modules available so that you can bi-amp or tri-amp. The third version available can be configured with HDMI modules to partner with your TV. Finally, there is a version with multi-channel capability. For example, you can configure it as a high performing home cinema amplifier, for 2.1 or 7.2 Dolby Atmos sound.
