What is Dolby Atmos?
Dolby Atmos is a multichannel surround sound system that was developed for Cinemas. Notably, it is now available in the home and can have up to 17 independent speakers. Usually, complex AV receivers are needed. With Dolby Atmos sound objects are created, that can be placed anywhere in 3d space. However, Klipsch produces two soundbars that take a different approach.
The Klipsch core soundbar's
The Klipsh Core 100 uses a virtual Dolby Atmos system that uses sound processing to create a 3D effect. On the other hand, the Core 200 has extra upward-firing speakers built into the unit. The Klipsch SURR 100 Wireless Surround Speakers are designed to pair with the Core 200 and act as the ceiling and surround speakers.
Why soundbars?
The aim of the Klipsch SURR 100 Wireless Surround Speakers is to be as easy to install as possible. This also applies to soundbars. The core units can be placed on furniture or mounted above or below the screen. The sound is vastly improved over the built-in speakers provided with flat-screen TVs.
