Product Description
The JVC NZ800 8K eShift Projector features JVC’s 8K/e-shiftX to provide a sharper picture with native 4K content as well as 8K sources. It is the best value model in the range with a light output of 2,700 Lumens. e-shift technology doubles the resolution by shifting each pixel in four directions to improve detail.
The LCD chip used for projection is a 0.69-inch native 4K D-ILA device. This has been improved with new 8K scaling for increased sharpness. True 8K content can be displayed with the gen2 algorithm. Images are smooth and detailed with no lag. Lastly, a 65mm high quality glass lens is used.
True 8k input
True 8k playback is supported by the JVC NZ800 8K eShift Projector. The D-ILD display chip uses large-scale integration support to process four times the amount of data used by 4k. The data rate for 8k is 48Gbps at 60 fps. As a result, an 8K image is smooth and judder-free. Additionally, 4k 120p images can be viewed in low latency mode for high frame rate games, with smooth motion.
Sharp and colourful HDR images
A frame adapt function is used with HDR sources in the JVC NZ800 8K eShift Projector. A JVC algorithm examines each scene or frame. It then performs real-time zone mapping to optimize the dynamic range for image projection. Now with gen2, the algorithm has been improved to provide higher definition and brighter images with a wider dynamic range.
What is HDR?
HDR stands for High Dynamic Range and is a way of sending extra information on the brightness of an image, contrast, and colour range. There are various versions such as HDR10 and HLG which is used for broadcasting. The JVC NZ800 8K eShift Projector can deal with most HDR formats.
The HDR systems support the BT.2020 standard with wide colour gamut and 10-bit gradation. The projector has been improved with higher brightness to take advantage of the latest standards.
High contrast with dynamic laser control
The black level of a projector determines the possible contrast range. The JVC NZ800 8K eShift Projector uses a Gen3 0.69-inch 4K D-ILA device and wire-grid optical engine. This is used in conjunction with a dynamic laser light control. The amount of light in a scene is analyzed and if a zone in the scene is meant to be black the laser shuts off providing true blacks. As a result, ultra-realistic images are produced. A new Deep Black Tone Control forms part of the HDR process.
High brightness laser
The light source in the JVC NZ800 8K eShift Projector is provided by JVC’s original laser light source “BLU-Escent Laser”. With the DLA-NZ800 the output is 2,700 lumens with a life of 20,000 hours. The brightness is almost double the original output and the power efficiency has been improved.
Connectivity
Two HDMI inputs are provided with the JVC NZ800 8K eShift Projector. These can be connected to a TV and a Disk player. HDMI supports 8K 60p and 4k 120p. HDR switching is automatic.
