Product Description

JBL L75MS gloss black music system is a limited edition version of the standard L75MS with a finish that has transformed this model into a contemporary styled solution for music, thanks to a more modern appeal that combines beautifully finished black gloss cabinet and gold badging.

This is a fully featured speaker that can play music wirelessly as well as play records, with its built in MM phono preamp. This is a large and powerful speaker with 350 watts of power and three amplifiers. The looks match the rest of the Limited edition black classic range. Finally, controllably is good with a supplied remote control as well as good app support.

Great features

The L75MS is a versatile sound system with a plethora of playback options. You can use the Google Home app to set up the speaker with your home network. However, you can also use Apple airplay 2 or Google Chromecast. Bluetooth is also built in and there is a wired ethernet connection. The L75MS is described as a system because it has a number of other inputs and features. There is an HDMI eARC connector for connecting the sound output of a TV. In this way, the L75Ms can be used as a soundbar. Moreover, there is an analogue 3.5mm input.

Five drivers

The L75MS features five drivers for a punchy sound. This is a large speaker and all that space leads to powerful bass. There are two 5.25” cm woofers and two 1” aluminium tweeters. In the centre is the 4” midrange unit. There is a total of 350 watts of power available using three amplifiers. Additionally, The built-in DAC is a 32bit/ 192kHz version.

What is a wireless speaker?

A wireless speaker refers to the fact that the speaker can stream music without any external wired input. Unusually the L75MS also has a built in MM phono preamp. Wireless speakers provide a one-box solution without having any trailing wires. Also the word is versatility. You can stream from your smartphone or tablet as well as listen to records. Or plug in your legacy analogue devices.

The JBL classic story

L75MS is part of a special limited edition black gloss range. That is an exclusive upgrade to the classic series. The Quadrex speaker grille and high gloss black finish honour the tradition of the Classic range, while bringing it bang up to date.
The original classic L100 speaker came out in 1970 and the range has undergone several upgrades over the years. The original series was popular but the retro wood finish and brightly coloured grille were not to everyone's taste. Hence the back cabinet upgrade and unique gold badging.

JBL a short history

By the 1930’s radio was the leading way to get information and entertainment. As a result, there were many radio manufacturers in the U.S. and they all needed loudspeakers. Consequently, James B Lancing formed JBL and began by make 6” and 8” speakers for radio sets. There was also a small market for larger speakers in luxury console radios and radiograms.

In the 1950’s JBL had pioneered new technologies such as the first 4” high frequency compression driver. At about this time the Famous 075 “bullet” tweeter came out. This was also known as the Ring radiator Driver. Another market was guitar amplifiers, and JBL began to supply guitar companies with speakers.

The 1970’s saw JBL enter the professional market with studio monitors. They became number 1 in the field and pioneered the use of titanium dome tweeters. There was also a market for PA speakers and by the 1980’s JBL were Making the renowned Cabinet range of PA speakers. Now JBL, have released a special black edition of the Classic range.
