Product Description

Hoody 4 Fire and Acoustic Speaker Hood is the larger alternative to the Hoody 3 and is designed for use with rectangular speakers between 7" to 10" that are fitted in-wall and in-ceiling.

Hoody 4 meets, and in some aspects exceeds, all UK and EU building and IEE Regulations. Hoody is especially made for in-ceiling speakers and holds a fire rating of up to 90 minutes complying with parts B, L, C and E of the building regulations.

Hoody Series

Part of the HOODY range of Fire and Acoustic speaker hoods, Hoody 4 ensures your installations conform to the latest IEE and Building Regulations pertaining to the Fire and Acoustic integrity of ceilings. These regulations recognise that once a hole has been created in the ceiling to fit a speaker, the build integrity and its endurance level in a fire is drastically reduced.

Acoustic Leakage

Is your listening room beneath your child's bedroom? You can still add Dolby Atmos height channels to your set up because the Hoody 4 has an acoustic build which stops a substantial amount of sound from leaking backwards behind the speaker and into the rooms above. This means you now have more flexibility than ever to install your speakers wherever you desire.

Fire Safety

While it is highly recommended that a fire and acoustic hood be fitted to every speaker that is installed in-ceiling, this is a necessity for installtions where the ceiling is rated for 30 minutes or above in order to ensure compliance with building regulations.

If you are unsure whether or not you are required to fit one, it is always better to be safe and fit a hood. In general for a three storey house, the ground floor and first ceilings would require hoods to prevent fire from escaping through the ceiling void and retain the integrity of the ceiling.

Key Benefits

- Prevents fire penetrating the ceiling void to retain fire integrity
- Prevents speaker sound from travelling to the floor above
- Acoustic rated for compliance with document L of building regulations
- Lightweight flexible cover can be fitted from above or below ceiling
- Installed in seconds and maintenance free
- Suitable for retro fit use or for new build installations
- Suitable for use in suspended or plasterboard ceilings
- Fully complies with all UK/EU legislation (BS EN1363-1 2012)
- Also complies with 18th Edition IEE Regulations
