Product Description

Hoody 3 Fire and Acoustic Speaker Hood is designed for use with 5" or 6" Rectangular in-wall and in-ceiling speakers. It meets all UK and EU building and IEE Regulations.

While suitable for in-wall speakers, Hoody is especially designed for in-ceiling speakers and has a fire rating of up to 90 minutes which makes it compliant with parts B,L,C and E of the building regulations.

Hoody Series

Hoody 3 is part of the HOODY series of Fire and Acoustic speaker hoods that brings your installations in line with the latest IEE and Building Regulations for Fire and Acoustic integrity of ceilings. The regulations recognise that once a hole is created in the ceiling to fit a speaker, the integrity of its construction and endurance in a fire is significantly reduced.

Acoustic Leakage

Due to it acoustic build, Hoody 3 also prevents large amounts of backwards sound leakage from the speakers to rooms above its location enabling installation in previous inconvenient situations i.e. below a child’s bedroom.

Fire Safety

An acoustic Fire hood should be fitted to every ceiling speaker but this is obligatory to ensure compliance for in-ceiling speakers installed where a ceiling is rated for 30 minutes or more. For example, a three storey house would require hoods fitted on the ground and first floor to to retain the 30 minute fire integrity of the ceilings and correctly comply with the regulations.
