Isolation Control Products - Shun Mook
Isolation control can be acheived by isolation cones, spikes and other control devices featured in this section. We also sell wall shelves that we highly recommend using to completely isolate your turntable (especially if your room has wooden floors).
Even if you put your hi-fi system on a dedicated hi-fi stand, each item on each shelf can still benefit from some additional isolation to further protect it from unwanted vibrations and interferences.
Shun Mook Audio was founded in 1990 by Bill Ying, Dr. Yu Wah Tan and Mr. Andrew Chow. Audiophiles since the early 1960s, they discovered using wood in their hi fi improved the tonal balance and started experimenting with different woods to find the most natural sound.
They soon found that ebony was the most effective wood and from
there they developed a pair of BBC LS3/5A speakers in solid ebony with matching
stands (only 10 pairs were produced and are still very rare), along with a
record clamp made from a very heavy and dense Ebony Briarwood from Africa.
In 1991, Shun Mook visited CES (the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas) with
their "Mpingo disc" tuning discs and "Diamond Resonator"
mecahnical grounding feet and the results were an instant hit. Over the 1990s
they continually developed thir product range and in the 200s, they installed
thousands of Mpingo discs into the walls of some of the most sought after
concert halls for musicians in South Korea.
Their current product range gives
you access to these developments, which are some of the most exclusive resonance
control products in the world.
