Focal Utopia headphones 2022 edition are the latest version of these flagship headphones. A reworked update to the highly regarded original that was first launched in 2016, this latest version has new aesthetic features and most importantly technical improvements to improve their sound quality

Cutting Edge Technology

They retain Focal's highly regarded full-range Beryllium drivers. These don't use any active or passive correction between 5-50kHz ensuring purity of sound. M-shaped drivers have now been combined with m-shaped earcups and together these are designed to offer a more accurate and clearer sound.

They also feature new copper and aluminium voice coils. Focal says this allows for a refreshed sound signature with better neutrality, stronger low frequencies and a more mellow higher frequencies for a more balanced sound.

Premium Design

Premium design materials make this new version feel even more luxurious. A new honeycomb styling not only looks great but is designed for an even more open sound. This is matched with black chrome rings along with soft and luxurious earcups that should be comfortable both for short and longer listening sessions.

This honeycomb design also sits perfectly alongside Focal's other headphone models including the open back Clear Mg and closed back Celestee and Stellia models.

Like the yin and yang design shown inside the earcups, these updated flagship headphones perfectly combine a beautiful design with stunning sound quality in absolute harmony. They are designed to be the finest headphones for sound quality with beautiful neutrality, punchy dynamics and stunning transparency.

Running In Period

Like most hi-fi headphones, these required a running-in period to stabilise the drivers and sound at their best. This will happen over several days of normal listening. If you can't wait though, we recommend playing bass-heavy music through them overnight (at slightly higher than normal listening volumes) for at least 24 hours.
