Product Description
The Focal Aria Evo X No 3 speakers are a sweet spot in this range and differ from the Aria Evo X No 2 by having three rather than two woofers for deeper extended bass response. These speakers make a spectacular impact in both stereo and home cinema systems.
The flax-coned woofers provide a very natural sound with low colouration and the midrange is clear and accurate while TAM tweeters provide a wide soundstage. The maximum power handling is 300 Watts and the bass goes down as low as 39Hz.
Dynamic flax coned woofers
The three flax-coned bass drivers and midrange unit provide a very natural sound. A layer of flax - which is a natural fibre, is sandwiched between two layers of fibreglass. The result is a very strong and lightweight material that has a neutral sound. The dynamics are also good and there is a good damping factor. Coloration is low and the drivers work well together.
TAM tweeter
The Focal Aria Evo X No 3 speakers feature a Focal-developed tweeter. The TAM tweeter has an ‘M’-shaped aluminium/magnesium inverted dome cone. The cone and surround provide a wide diffusion angle. Additionally, the Urethane tweeter plate and waveguide direct high frequencies to create a more harmonic balance. As a result, the treble has great definition and a good timbre.
Power flow multi-port system
Bass reflex systems are used to boost the bass response in speakers. The Focal Aria Evo X No 3 speakers feature the Powerflow multi-port system to minimize dynamic compression for more impact. Additionally, the front-firing port prevents booming when placed against a wall. There are three ports on the Focal Aria Evo X No 3 for Earth shaking bass response.
Tuned mass damper
The Focal Aria Evo X No 3 speakers feature a bass/midrange driver surround that has special characteristics. The surround forms a kind of suspension that holds the cone to the speaker's surround. Focal has developed the TMD (Tuned Mass damper) system that improves the performance of the assembly. It also has a harmonic damper that reduces distortion and colouration. Harmonics are generated at multiples of the fundamental frequency and can cause interactions that lead to distortion. Reducing harmonics provides a more homogenised sound.
High quality crossover
The crossover in the Focal Aria Evo X No 3 speakers is used to split the audio into three bands for feeding to each driver. The midrange has a bandpass filter that delivers only the middle frequencies to the midrange driver. The tweeter gets its feed from a high-pass filter. Only the best quality components are used. For example, the capacitors are designed to not drift in value with age or temperature. The crossover design is usually computer-modelled so that it delivers a flat frequency response, overall.
Three sophisticated finishes
The Focal Aria Evo X No 3 speakers are available with three luxury finishes. High gloss black, Prime walnut, and High gloss moss green. Moreover, the ultra-rigid MDF cabinet has low vibration and great neutrality. Additionally, the front panel has a beautiful leather effect, and magnetic grilles are supplied. Finally, the built-in aluminum alloy stand has adjustable spiked feet.
