Product Description
The EverSolo DMP-A8 flagship streamer and DAC is EverSolo’s top-of-the-range model, designed to offer the best possible performance from a range of sources, improving on the lower DAC-Z8 and DMP-A6 models.
DMP-A8 also has extra features over the DMP-A6. This includes a wider case and analogue audio inputs. A remote is also provided. You can use the unit as a DAC, pre amp, streamer and/or media player. Additionally, there are more outputs for connecting an external DAC. WIFI and Bluetooth are included.
EOS Audio engine for the original sampling rate
The Android operating system has an SRC restriction on the sample rate used. As a result, EverSolo has developed the EOS sampling rate engine. This removes the sampling limit and allows playback of hi-res formats like Apple Music, without degradation. The EverSolo DMP-A8 Flagship Streamer & DAC can also play MQA files.
Dual DAC decoding
The EverSolo DMP-A8 Flagship Streamer & DAC features two highly specified DAC chips, the AKM4499EX and the AK4191EQ. The chips have an improved noise performance as well as enhanced dynamic range. Dual femtosecond high-precision clocks are used for audio decoding. This creates a low-jitter, smooth sound. The USB input also now supports hi-res playback.
3rd generation XMOS chip
As with most streamers, the USB ports and other inputs use an XMOS chip to interface with the DAC. In the DMP-A8, a more advanced XMOS chip is used. This has a faster speed as well as a higher bandwidth than earlier versions. As a result USB now supports DSD 512 as well as PCM768 at 32-bit. Additionally, two separate clocks are used for the 44.1kHz and 48 kHz sources.
Wide range of streaming services built-in
DMP-A8 comes with a range of streaming services built in. These include Tidal, Qobuz, Deezer, HIRESAUDIO, Radio Paradise, Amazon, and Apple Music. You can also attach an external CD drive to rip CDs to the internal or external storage. Additionally, many internet radio stations and podcasts are available.
A hard drive can be added upto 4TB in size for internal file storage and there is a USB input for connecting an external hard drive. Either way, the streamer can also be used as a media library. The library software can sort tracks by artist, song, or sample rate.
Large touch screen display
The DMP-A8 has a large front-facing LCD display, which makes track selection easy, and a form of Android is used for the operating system. Different skins can be used, and there are entertaining VU metres and spectrum displays available. The display makes updating system settings and viewing track details easy.
Low noise power supply and good connectivity
A low noise power supply is fitted to the DMP-A8 which uses dedicated audio filter capacitors. There is also a choke that removes high-frequency noise. As a result, the background is almost silent.
Additionally, more analogue inputs are provided than the DMP-A6. These include a set of RCA inputs as well as a pair of Balanced XLR inputs. This allows for the connection of a turntable that has a phono preamp. There is also a good range of digital inputs with two optical, two coaxial, and a pair of USB connectors. Digital outputs are also provided for connecting to external decoding devices.
HDMI connectivity
The EverSolo DMP-A8 Flagship Streamer has an HDMI input with eARC capability. This takes a feed from your screen so that the sound can be heard through the streamer. The built-in DAC will be of a better quality than that of the TV. In this case, the DMP-A8 acts as a preamp with the output feeding an amplifier.
