Product Description
The EverSolo AMP-F2 power amplifier is designed to partner with the EverSolo DMP-A8 Or DMP-A6 streamers. It can also be used with other preamps that have a volume control.
This is a powerful and compact power amp running in Class D and outputting 250 watts per channel. The unit can also be used in bridge mode for an output of 450 watts. The INS600 power amplifier module uses a high-frequency pulsed output at 600kHz for a smoother sound with less distortion, and the switched power supply is efficient and low noise.
Powerful Class D amplifier
The INS600 power amplifier modules used in EverSolo AMP-F2 Power Amplifier were developed by the Starke Sound Team in the U.S. Class D uses a pulse width modulated output. In this case, the frequency is 600Khz. This is well above the human hearing range.
THD is below 1% and optimisation circuits are used to reduce distortion. The amplifier can handle low-impedance loads. As a result, the unit can drive any impedance speaker with ease, especially during highly dynamic or low-frequency passages.
About Class D
Unlike linear amplifiers, Class D can be up to 90% efficient. Class D also generates less heat and allows for high output powers in a relatively small unit. Class A amplifiers are usually single-ended and are always drawing power through the output device. On the other hand, Class B uses a pair of output devices and only switches on when there is an output. Class D is essentially digital with the pulse width modulated output representing the audio signal.
Advanced switch mode power supply
The SAPS audio-specific power supply in the INS600 power amplifier has a low noise output and a good dynamic performance. An advantage of switch-mode power supplies is the low standby power of 0.5W Watts. Moreover, the idle power is only 14 watts. The power supply is also well-shielded and has good built-in protection. On the other hand, a linear power supply, for this power output, would need an enormous transformer and be very heavy.
Bridge mode and connectivity
For high power stereo systems the EverSolo AMP-F2 can be used in bridge mode. This provides a massive 450 watts per channel if two amplifiers are used. They can also be used in multiples for home cinema systems. This power amp also features balanced XLR inputs, allowing you toi use long cable runs without introducing noise. There are also standard RCA inputs. The quality, output binding posts are robust enough to handle the power output with ease. Lastly, there is a 12V trigger input. With this, the streamer or preamp will turn on the amplifier or amplifiers automatically even in a remote location.
Who are EverSolo?
EverSolo makes a range of high-end streamers and DACs as well as the EverSolo AMP-F2 Power Amplifier mentioned above. The range has been well received and they use several innovative technologies to create great-sounding Class D amplifiers and top-of-the-line streamers.
