Product Description
Black Rhodium Cantata is made from conductor wires of cryogenically processed pure palladium, likely the most technically advanced audio cable and most probably unique. The design incorporates many supplementary design features researched and tested for the best possible sound quality in an environment of surpluss mechanical vibration, magnetic fields and RFI.
Pure Palladium wire
Palladium is incredibly expensive to produce and its use in Cantata is justified by its exceptional sound quality. Many years of research failed to find another conductor material with the same naturally pure sound quality. Platinum or Rhodium are the only materials that can demonstrate a superior audio quality to palladium but are considerably more expensive.
Advanced Cryogenic Processing
Cantata is treated with advanced DCT++ (Deep Cryogenic Treatment) which involves temperature processing above and below room temperature. The process shifts the molecular form of the cable to enhance uniformity with everlasting benefits to every aspect of performance.
Low Loss PTFE Insulation
The silver wires are PTFE-insulated because low dielectric loss ensures very low distortion due to dielectric absorption effects where sound energy is absorbed in the insulation and released at a later interval to create highly audible time-smearing distortion. Dielectric distortion is further lowered by a layer of air separating the wire from the inner wall along its length.
Vibration Stabiliser
Cantata hosts two Graham Nalty Legacy VS-2 Vibration Stabilisers, purpose-made to reduce audible cable distortion by limiting the effects of vibrations travelling through the conductor wires. Mechanical vibration within audio cables change the electrical properties seen by the sensitive electrical voltages that carry the signal. These changes create the intermodulation effects heard as noise and distortion in the music. By applying Vibration Stabilisers at both ends, mechanical vibration introduced is very effectively reduced granting a tighter sound in all types of music.
Anti RFI / EMI Technology
Canata is covered in a braided screen to protect the inner cores from picking up RFI by twisting the cores. The screen is connected end only to prevent ‘loop aerials’ between equipment picking up noise. An untwisted cable has a large surface area that can more easily pick up RFI/EMI signals generated from Radio, Wifi, Mobile Phones and even central heating systems. Complementary filtering techniques are applied to ensure that any interference is effectively neutralised preventing audible distortion.
Advanced Manufacturing Techniques
Cantata features two separate cores for positive and negative signal flows. These are joined in opposite directions from the way they were wound on the reel as listening tests have shown this lowers the noise floor between the musical notes giving ‘blacker’ silences in the interval between notes and enhances the musical edges and natural decays in music.
High End RCA Connectors
Cantata is terminated with ultra-high quality Rhodium Plated Graham Nalty Legacy Range GN-4 RCA connectors which are specially made to ensure Black Rhodium cables deliver the very best sound quality possible. Rhodium plating ensures cleaner and less corroded contact is preserved between the plug and socket and is much livelier and more exciting in sound than gold plating.
