Cyrus Range Guide

Cyrus Audio products are designed and built in the UK under the brand philosophy of "separating what can be separated" which assists in isolation from noisy power supplies and enhances overall sound quality. The range features DACs and CD transports rather than single-box CD players and their pre/power amplifiers tend to be more popular than the one-box integrated amplifier models available. To help, we've put together this quick buyers guide to the Cyrus product ranges below.

Whether you're aspiring to own your first Cyrus system or upgrading your existing system, we hope this guide will act as a good starting point in your journey toward even better sound from your system (click any product below to read more or browse our full Cyrus range). Cyrus Audio Buyers Guide

The Cyrus one range represents a couple of key things we feel, a nod to the past firstly - the original Cyrus One amplifier in design terms, the product that kicked it all off. The second key thing is a focus more modern appointments , Class D gives great power, low heat but still tuned to sound right also there a range of streaming options from Bluetooth on the standard model up to Wifi/Ethernet streaming on the Cast (Which also is Google Play and Alex compatible) While it might be the entry level for Cyrus performance is delivered en mass, 100w a channel means most speakers are catered for and you can choose between the One, the One HD (with improved amplifier) and the Cast which is a one HD with streaming!

Cyrus have long since been praised for their reliable and over performing integrated range, the 6 and 8 are two such models that follow this tradition to the letter. The 6 offering 57 watts output is perfect for your stand-mount speaker and 8 is ideal for less demanding floorstanders - as standard the DAC's on board are 24bit 192 however we highly recommend the QXR version offering up 32bit and more importantly (in our opinion!) DSD decoding. Ideal for those looking for an all in one solution but do not want to scrimp on true audiophile performance.

Pre/Power Amplifiers

The ultimate expression of what is possible if you split everything into it's own box, with individual power supplies and circuitry serious performance follows . If you are serious about sound and want to ultimate experience then pre/power is for you. The range has three power amplifiers two stereo amplifiers depending on your power requirements and a mono Stereo 300 used as pair, the class D tech in the Stereo 200 make it a price V performance class leader and it does not have any of the hard unsatisfying sound sometimes attributed to Class D designs. The Stereo 300 will drive pretty much drive anything you throw at it but match these with ProAc K3 and you are in for stellar performance.

Cyrus Phono Stage

Not all records are born equal - it's a sad fact that us vinyl lovers have to deal with - getting the most from your record collection may require different cartridges, even turntables - what Cyrus have created here is a go to reference point which will allow on the fly changing of deck - up to 4! I cannot think of any other phonostage we offer that will allow that. It also offers many different adjustments to ensure you are getting the most performance - all from a remote control as well! An end game phonostage.

Cyrus Streamers

The modern way of listening to music is media-less so to speak - I.E you cannot physically hold you music in your hand, whether you like or dislike that fact (lets save that debate for a rainy day!) the pros of streaming make it an undeniable force for good - high res material, access to things you would never had originally come across and ease of use all combine to make streaming the future. Signature Stream just has digital out to go to a DAC - DAC XP Signature for example - the Stream XA has fixed RCA outputs operating much the same as a traditional source.

CD Players

With the huge growth in streaming products coming to market and some manufacturers opting to completely discontinue CD Players, removing them from the product catalogue entirely it is refreshing to still be able to get an Audiophile disc spinner from Cyrus - there's millions of CD's on the market new let alone on the second hand market so the chances of CD really becoming obsolete is pretty slim and there is still something magical about physically owing your media.

Power Supply

Without mains what have you got.. a nice looking Cyrus system and not much else. The PSX-R2 provides stable DC current to your kit post dealing with all the negative effects of the mains - what's more it takes the load of the exiting power supply leading to a more refined and dynamic experience all round in our opinion - an upgrade you really must try.

We'll be adding the just announced Cyrus XR range onto this guide very soon. For the time being you can view them here
