Product Description
Cabasse Rialto active speakers is a new audio system inspired by the most famous bridge in Venice. Cabasse has been developing innovative technologies over the last ten years. As a result, the Rialto speakers merge traditional Hi-Fi with the latest streaming technology to bring you the best of both worlds.
The system is made up of two connected speakers, that have a bookshelf style with soft and rounded lines. They combine high-power class D amplification units with triaxial drivers. They can be controlled via the Cabasse app or the innovative top-mounted controller.
Emotion and impact from compact speakers
The Rialto speakers are compact but powerful, due to a range of innovative technologies from Cabasse. They provide rich emotion, and a live sound, that makes instruments and vocals stand out. The full dynamics of the music can be heard and high-resolution files are presented with great detail. This is due in no small part to Cabasse innovations such as high excursion woofers.a well as dynamic sound processing and automatic room correction.
High excursion woofers
The woofers feature a patented HELD (High Excursion Low Distortion) cone that is capable of delivering powerful and deep bass from a small driver. The woofer is only 17cm in diameter, but it has a high excursion, that moves a lot of air. This delivers maximum sound without distortion. The other two speaker cones are mounted on top of the woofer.
The amplifiers and speakers feature a dynamic sound processing system that gets the best out of the source. DEAP (Digital Enhancement of Acoustical Performance) is a technology developed by Cabasse. The audio is split into multiple bands. The bands are then analysed in real time. Consequently, the amplification is adjusted to best match the source, and the amplification available. In this way, peaks are distortion free. The sound is clean and pure.
Coaxial drivers
Rialto speakers also feature coaxial drivers. With this technology three cones are mounted on top of each other. Cabasse pioneered this innovation back in 1952. As a result, all the sound waves form a single point source. This avoids any phase errors resulting in less interference and colouration.
Connect your TV sound with e-ARC
The Rialto are versatile speakers that can play many sources and they can also be connected to your TV via an e-ARC enabled HDMI socket. This is a hi-res capable connector that gives incredible dynamics with movies and games. Moreover, it also enables you to control the volume with the TV remote.
Automatic room correction
Another hi-end feature of the Rialto is the automatic room calibration feature. This is normally only seen on high-end AV receivers. With this feature a microphone monitors the sound and automatically corrects any phase errors. As a result, the sound is clean and powerful. Moreover, this feature can be controlled via the StreamControl app.
Stream in hi-res via StreamControl app
The Rialto also features the Cabasse StreamControl App. This can be installed on Apple and Android devices. You will then be able to control the speakers across multiple rooms as well as stream from Qobuz and Spotify. The Rialto can also connect via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
High specification amplifier and good usability
The Rialto has three channels of class D amplification. The treble has a 300W RMS amplifier as does the midrange unit. The bass has a 450 W RMS amplifier. The frequency range is wide at 30hz to 27 kHz. Finally, the main unit has an innovative control interface. It uses a touch screen, and is conveniently located at the top of the unit. Rotate the ring to change the source or control the volume. The colour screen also shows the track and artwork for the album being played.
Why class D amplifiers?
High powered amplifiers usually generate a lot of heat and need a lot of current. As a result high powered amplification, in a small space, was not really possible, until Class D came along. Class D is a digital system using pulse width modulation to give over 90% efficiency. This enables small in size amplifiers, to deliver massive power
