Product Description
The Cabasse Amp 240 S Integrated Amplifier is a powerful 120-watt-per-channel Class D amplifier with a good range of built-in streaming services such as Spotify and Tidal. The is also a range of acoustic innovations unique to Cabasse. The round display also doubles as the volume control.
Connectivity is good with both analogue and digital inputs as well as WIFI and Bluetooth. Lastly, the sound can be enhanced by using various listening position settings as well as Digital Enhancement of Acoustical Performance (DEAP).
A Multi-source and multi-user system
This versatile unit can stream from the most popular streaming sources such as Spotify and Tidal. It also has an HDMI socket so that you can connect TV sound. Movies come alive with a dynamic and punchy sound. Moreover, the unit is compatible with the Cabasse eco-system. As a result, Different users can create zones as well as different input preferences.
Innovative display and volume control
The innovative round display on the Cabasse Amp 240 S Integrated Amplifier also doubles as the volume control and source selector. The touch screen sits in the centre of the black aluminum cabinet and it also displays the album covers of the album being played.
Class D amplifier
A Class D amplifier is used in the Cabasse Amp 240 S Integrated Amplifier. This allows the unit to be compact while having a high output power. Notably 120 Watts per channel would require a large transformer in a Class A/B system. Class D is almost 90% efficient and uses a stream of high-frequency pulses at the output.
The pulses are Pulse Width Modulated (PWM). The closer together the pulses are the higher the output. A high pass filter in the output then recovers the audio.
Good connectivity
The Cabasse Amp 240 S Integrated Amplifier has an optical and USB digital input as well as analogue RCA. The optical digital input can be used to connect a CD drive. A turntable with a phono preamp can be connected to the RCA inputs.
Additionally, HDMI is provided for TV sound and there is an output for a line-level subwoofer. Streaming connectivity includes, WIFI, Bluetooth, and wired Ethernet. Speaker output is via standard binding posts.
Listening position setting
The Cabasse Amp 240 S Integrated Amplifier has additional features such as a listening position setting. This changes the sound depending on whether you are in home music mode or evening mode. Moreover, the Dynamic Fidelity enhancer monitors the music in real-time. It then adjusts the power sent to each speaker by measuring the listening level, spectral content, and dynamics.
Digital Enhancement Of Acoustical Performance
DEAP is a technology used in the Cabasse Amp 240 S Integrated Amplifier that optimizes how the amplifier and Cabasse speakers work together. Dynamic multi-band signal processing uses active feedback to make sure that full power amplification can be used most efficiently and effectively. Different DEAP profiles are used depending on the speaker type.
