Cornered Audio History
Scandinavian loudspeaker makers Cornered Audio have built a reputation for premium solutions to commercial and custom speaker installation. Distinguishably Scandinavian, the Danish company’s quarter cylinder shaped speakers embody the minimalism and simplicity at the core of Scandinavian design. C Series
Cornered Audio C-Series is are brands “Original Cornerstone” speakers and consists of the C3, C5, C5 TRM, C6, and C6TR models. These monitor speakers represent the brand’s benchmark standard for the finest sound from compact loudspeakers. With an eye for innovation, Cornered Audio’s C speakers feature an original triangular shape that lets them fit snugly into the corner of a room. If you have a small room, the C speakers as they can be mounted on a wall or on ceiling thus freeing up your floor space.
Easy to install, the C Series are ideal for hospitality venues and can even perform as a high-performance surround speakers. The C3 base model is tiny and utilises a 4” woofer and 1” silk dome tweeter to deliver detailed sound ideal for small or medium sized rooms. Next in size is the C5 speaker which is the most versatile model, as it delivers room-filling sound even in large rooms despite its small size. It features an extra passive woofer and boasts the widest frequency response of all the C models for a great musical performance from any genre.
With the same bass driver arrangement as the C5 but with more energy and power is the C5TRM speaker. It utilises a horn-loaded tweeter to deliver a high output, finely tuned details and excellent delivery of dialogue which makes it ideal for public spaces and home cinema systems. For an immersive surround sound presentation, the C6 model ticks all the boxes. It delivers a depth, ambience and three-dimensional soundstage that place you in the centre of the on-screen action. The C6TRM is the go to choice for professional applications that require the highest intelligibility of speech. This corner speaker enables speech to be delivered with convincing realism in conference rooms, wedding venues, commercial events etc, and perform even better when used with a subwoofer.
Ci Series
The Ci series are Cornered Audio’s most social speakers, designed for installation in leisure facilities such as shopping centres, cafes and outdoor venues. They’re even smaller than their Ci brothers and feature a slider mounting system which makes them a perfect choice for discreet commercial installation. Since the CI series are IP65 certified they can deliver high-quality audio whilst withstanding some pretty harsh weather conditions, rain sleet or shine. They can be positioned outside cafes and restaurants to create an ideal musical ambiance without distracting from the venue atmosphere as they are super low-key.
There are five models in this series, which similar to the C-Series they go up in size as the range goes up. starting with the Ci2 which is great starting point for flush mounted installation for background noise in small indoors and outdoor settings. The Ci4 benefits from a dual-way full-range speaker design meaning less of these speakers are needed in a commercial setting to be able to achieve good coverage. Slightly heavier than the Ci4, the Ci4-V can be driven in 70/100 voltage options and also features switchable high-impedance mode which enables a stronger output when used.
At the top of the range are the slightly larger Ci5 and Ci5-V models which are designed to perform better in the bass department. As well as this, both models feature Cornered Audio’s triangular cabinet design for fast and fuss-free flush fit. Ci5 speaker benefits from a larger woofer and passive woofer than previous models whilst employing the same volt and output options a the Ci4-V. Bigger bass make this speaker an excellent choice for large entertainment venues, hospitality functions and shopping centres. Beautifully discreet, the Ci5-V is kitted out with the same impressive list of specs as the Ci5 but features a hidden cable terminal which allows for a neater and more aesthetically pleasing installation.
L Series
The top of Cornered Audio’s range of speakers is the line source LS1, which is designed specifically for high SPL applications – or high sound pressure level venues which are suitable for use with live music. When using up to 6 of these speakers in an entertainment venue, greater coverage and high-fidelity sound is achieved. It uses 2 tweeters rather than 1 and it’s woofer is enhanced with neodymium magnet which has a cutting-edge cooling system and offers low power compression even after 8 hours of maximum SPL.
