The Audio Technica ATH-AD500X Headphones are an entry-level unit with a natural and precise sound. They outperform their low cost and are comfortable to wear. Notably, the 53mm drivers and CCAW voice coil provide deep bass and remarkable vocal projection. The open-air design also negates the closed-in feeling.
Lastly, they are lightweight and come with a quality OFC cable with an elastic sheath. Lastly, the headphones have a wide frequency response of 5Hz to 25,000 kHz. A 3.5mm plug is fitted and a 6.3mm adaptor is provided.
Natural sounding drivers
The 53mm drivers of the Audio Technica ATH-AD500X Headphones feature CCAW voice coils. The Copper Coated Aluminium Wire creates a sound with deep bass and natural-sounding vocals. Additionally, the large honeycombed aluminum housing gives great clarity and good ventilation.
Extreme comfort
The large earcups fully cover the ears. Moreover, the pads are covered in a very soft material that gives long-lasting comfort. Next, the 3D wing headband features small removable wings. As a result the headphones automatically adjust to your head shape. Consequently, there is no feeling of pressure.
A quality lead
The Audio Technica ATH-AD500X Headphones come with a quality OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) lead. OFC has a lower resistance than conventional cable. The cable is also fitted with a 3.5mm gold-plated plug. Additionally, a 6.3mm adaptor is provided.
Headphone connectors
There are a wide range of headphone connectors and headphone amplifiers available. The Audio Technica ATH-AD500X Headphones come with a pre-fitted lead terminated in a 3.5mm plug. This is the most common type of connector, as used by smartphones and portable audio.
However, older amplifiers will have a 6.3mm connector and an adaptor is provided for those. Some high-end headphone amplifiers will come with balanced connection options for high-end headphones.
