Product Description
ATC C1 5.1 speaker package combines the new C1C centre speaker with two pairs of SCM7 bookshelf speakers and the C1 Mk2 active subwoofer.
This set up supplies multichannel applications with ATCs signature neutral fidelity, wide bandwidth and high dynamic range. These speakers are perfectly matched for deploying an identical high performance and low distortion acoustic design throughout.
ATC SCM7
The award winning ATC SCM7 speakers are an alternative to the larger SCM11 and are one of the finest loudspeakers we've heard under £1000. This is the most compact model in the SCM range, sitting under the SCM11, SCM19 bookshelf models and SCM40 floorstanders.
Despite their comparatively diminutive size, the SCM7 pack a punch and are incredibly accomplished speakers, taking advantage of all the design elements featured in the higher models, making them one of the best spec'd hi-fi speakers at this level and a perfect choice for smaller rooms.
C1 Mk2 Subwoofer
ATC’s C1 Mk2 Sub active subwoofer is a compact, substantially braced design, incorporating a hand-built 12” (314mm) ATC bass driver and a fully discrete ATC 200W MOSFET power amplifier.
Supplied with full remote and fascia mounted control over crossover frequency, gain and phase, its response may be calibrated for customised music and home theatre modes. Line and speaker level inputs are supplied together with a 12V trigger jack.
C1C Centre
Engineered to complement the SCM7 both visually and acoustically, the C1C employs a high quality cabinet construction, braced for high rigidity and damping. All system components are hand-finished in either real cherry wood or black ash veneers.
Manufactured entirely in-house, ATC’s C1C centre-channel designs offer the ownership of hand-built, finely-engineered speaker systems, world renowned for audio accuracy.
Press Reviews
-
'If you aren’t trying to fill an auditorium, this speaker package is unlikely to be bettered for a long while. For: Spacious and detailed sound field, great integration, expressive, musical delivery.' (What Hi-Fi Magazine September 2016)
-
Immediately we’re drawn to the way in which this package integrates its speakers – thunder and flying arrows crack and sail behind us with exceptional detail, while not dominating the main action or dialogue. Given that we have modestly sized standmounters rather than big floorstanders here, you might expect the sound to be lacking in weight. It's not. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by how rich the surround effects are.' (What Hi-Fi Magazine September 2016)
-
'ATC says the C1C centre is designed to complement the SCM7s you have in the corners of your room, and it certainly shares their solid, balanced tone. Even in the heat of battle, with a busy score and even busier list of sound effects, their edges are neither sharp nor smoothed: it’s a balance that has us almost forgetting to listen critically and just becoming lost in the film.' (What Hi-Fi Magazine September 2016)
-
'Rumbles are indeed rumbles – you can feel ships colliding through the soles of your feet, underlining the solid body of the rest of the package with authoritative weight, and a dial on the front allows you to tweak the bottom end... We’ve mentioned dynamics, which the C1 package masters both in terms of ‘quiet to loud’ and those more nuanced levels of expression, but the ATC has also refined its unimpeachable sense of timing.' (What Hi-Fi Magazine September 2016)
-
'We suppose the highest praise we can offer ATC here is that it gives our considerably more expensive PMC reference system a run for its money... In a room a little smaller than the one we have for testing, at the moment we can think of no better alternative for the money. A consummate triumph, to be sure.' (What Hi-Fi Magazine September 2016)
