Product Description

Yamaha CD-S3000 CD Player is Yamaha’s highest class CD player with high rigidity drive mechanism and innovative circuit design for lossless audio, designed to match the A-S3000.

Precision CD Mechanism

This CD player has meticulously crafted care, which ensures rigidity with control of any unwanted vibrations and ultra-precise reading. Yamaha has installed heavy anchors with the loader mechanism which results in a highly rigid mechanism and blocks the effects of any external vibrations.

The anchor on the front features two layers and a screw-based mechanism. By having two layers allows for precision adjustment of the horizontal level in either the left-right or front-back dimension of the loader mechanism. By reducing the load of the servo, driving the pickup gives a super clean output signal that is virtually unaffected by noise.

High Rigidity Chassis

The CD tray is constructed from a highly rigid aluminium, which reduces any secondary vibrations which occur from the resonance of the disc and the high-speed motor.  The result of these material choices is that reading of the signal is highly precise and has a quiet operation. Reinforcing each part improves the rigidity of the main chassis itself.

With a 7mm thick aluminium front panel, CDS3000 is constructed with a rotating loader mechanism in the centre, digital power supply and circuit board on its left while the analogue equivalent is on its right to achieve a symmetrical structure and ideal weight balance. The bottom chassis is copper plated for minimal impedance.

The result is a remarkably pure, expressive and exquisitely profound sound. Yamaha proudly offers this new high-end lineup, delivering supreme quality in every way.

Independent Circuits

The CD-S3000 has two power transformer, which separates the digital and analogue circuits from the power supply and gives each with its own dedicated power transformer. By using twin power channels Yamaha manages to eliminate sound quality deteriorations which are caused by interference between the circuit blocks.

The toroidal transformer, with low magnetic leakage, for the analogue and digital signals lowers any adverse impact on the discs audio signal. It is enclosed in a copper-plated case to reduce magnetic leakage and vibration for a gentle, calm and even spacious sound. This is one of the series’ main aims of to ensure that even soft sounds are reproduced accurately with rich expressive power.

Single-stage configuration

To thoroughly eliminate any audio signal loss, the CD-S3000 has an innovative design of the analogue circuit. The single-stage configuration is based on a discrete design of the I/V conversion circuit, for the signal output.

By utilising a single-stage configuration the slew-rate is sharply lowered and results in a natural, spacious sound. The circuits beyond the DACs have a balanced transmission with a circuit configuration marked by symmetrical positive and negative sides.

Exceptional 32-bit DAC

For the DAC, the ES9018 from ESS Technology was chosen for its ability to process 32-bit signals and its ability to handle large amounts of data, low register strength and high register definition. The DAC also features an original Jitter Eliminator function, which permits digital-to-analogue conversion with an extremely low impact of clock jitter.

An 8-channel DAC is on the chip, and allows double differential operation using 4-channel DACs on the right and left sides respectively. The high-quality signal output has a great signal to noise ratio due to the balanced analogue signal processing.

Built-in USB DAC

This CD player has been specially designed for high resolution audio signals with superior D/A conversion, balanced signal output and a built-in USB DAC function, CDS3000 allows direct digital audio input (from PC etc) via USB. The DAC has a specially developed original IC, with an internal master clock and low-jitter transmission, supporting up to 192kHz/24-bit resolution.

The ASIO 2.3 protocol is a standard protocol for professional use of digital audio which exhibits a lower delay and higher throughput than regular OS drivers. The drivers' software allows for high quality playback of digital signals.

Integrated power supply

The internal design of the CD player does not separate the power supply boards, which include the power transformer; the block capacitors are mounted directly on their respective digital or analogue boards. By eliminating the connections from the power supply to each circuit board and mounting it directly results in a reduction of signal loss and achieving low impedance. Plus the cabling from the power transformer uses the same screw type connections as the A-S3000, with its superior benefits.

Pure Direct Mode

The CD-S3000 also has the special Pure Direct Mode, which means that when you playing pure analogue audio you can turn the display off, the digital output circuit is also stopped, which consequently improves the quality of the analogue signal. By disabling the digital circuitry the result is a warm, natural sound with greater musicality, which enhances any balanced connections with the A-S3000.

Insulator Spikes/Pads

The insulators are crucial parts that block external vibrations in any system. Here you have the choice of using Yamaha’s original metal legs to minimise vibrations.  But, also the user could select point installation by applying the supplied spikes or use plane insulation with the supplied pads. Furthermore, you can use these spikes and pads combined within an interlocking rack.

Meticulous Design

Yamaha's music instrument manufacturing history is evident from the finish on the CD-S3000, it gives off the presence of a fine musical instrument, without visible screws or fasteners seen from the outside. Every aspect of the CD-S3000 construction and design shows off master craftsmanship and reflects Yamaha's obsession with quality.

The design using advanced precision processing technologies, such as how they integrate the top panel and side wood connection, leaving no visible space between the different materials. Similarly, the half-mirrored glass display is precision fitting to the front panel to give a seamless and elegant look

Remote control

The remote control that is supplied with the CD player is designed with the same ethos as the aluminium panel, it has a simple, button layout and metallic texture. Also, in addition to basic CD controls, you can also use the remote to adjust the volume and switch input sources on the A-S3000.
