Product Description

TEAC TN-550 turntable is a high class two speed turntable, designed on the principle of combining very high style with superb record playing sound quality. The TN-550 provides virtue of analog sound in the highest standard for audiophile who have loved it for decades.

Dual Material Chassis

The cabinet fuses synthetic marble with large-density MDF in a dual-layer sandwich assembly. On top of granting a great response margin, this design achieves clear sound by reducing the innate resonant frequencies of diverse materials by merging them. The power sequence incorporates a belt drive with a programmed rotation tuning machine (PRS3) created by TEAC.

Platter Rotation

Fluctuations in platter rotation pace are instantly perceived by an optical sensor at the spindle base and applied as feedback for the motor speed. This enables precise cogging-free rotation on the same level as leading belt drive and direct drive units while permitting a stylish and glossy cabinet design.

Speed Selector

The speed selector has an electronically-governed speed altering device between 33-1/3 rpm and 45 rpm, which does not require niggling methods of swapping the pulley to an alternate diameter version. An EP adapter utilises a durable aluminium dial for impressive feeling.

Clear Acrylic Platter

The 16mm-dense full-size platter constructed of acrylic resin with great transparency, gleams superbly, reflecting the environment corresponding to the light level and removing unwanted vibrations. By harnessing a carbon coating to the spindle bearing, rigidity is improved and electrification is regulated for excellent still energy performance.

Large Torque Motor

Using a rubber cushion, a huge torque motor is stabilised to hover when joint to the framework. This quashes the spread of vibrations from the motor to the body. A level belt steadfastly transmits energy to the mechanical drive. A urethane flat belt that has minute stretch reliably propels the acrylic platter. It is similarly very quiet and delivers exceptional resilience.

Honeycomb Case

The underneath incorporates a honeycomb pattern that averts unwanted resonances. The thin lower cover, which amalgamates into the sophisticated design, uses a honeycomb edifice for the inside. Quad aluminum feet can be height-adjusted individually enabling a turntable set up on uneven surfaces. Cushioned rubber settles between where the feet are fitted and the chassis to stifle the feedback of audio to the cabinet.

Anti-skating Tonearm Mechanism

The inert balanced S-shaped tonearm is highly flexible. You can alter the height to optimise it for the shell and cartridge in use. A premium PC-Triple C* conductor cable is employed for the tonearm cable allowing the acquired phono signal from the sensitive vinyl record to be conveyed with untainted quality. A pair of RCA Pin jacks are included on the rear panel for Phono level output.

Audio Technica MM Cartridges

An MM-type cartridge similar to the AT100E is pre-fitted at the factory and the universal headshell hosts PC-Triple C wiring for clean signal transference.
