Press Reviews

  • 'The Vena is relaxed in a hi-fi environment and doesn't require any concessions for its price or wireless functionality... Excellent, versatile, modern integrated amplifier' (Hi-Fi Choice Magazine 2014)
  • 'A civilised but animated performer that really gets the speakers bouncing' (Hi-Fi Choice Magazine 2014)
  • 'The rhythms shuffle along with real conviction, and we enjoy its musical gait. Dynamics are decent too, and the Vena puts its power out in a positive way with no obvious sense of strain.' (Hi-Fi Choice Magazine 2014)
  • 'The Quad sounds clean, crisp and musical. Despite not using the same circuitry as more traditional, larger and more expensive Quad amplifiers there is still a lot of the house sound to be heard. It's musically informative and engaging, with a pleasingly detailed presentation. You would certainly never call it boring, but then again it is never harsh or searing; Quad has struck exactly the right balance meaning it's a civilised performer that you can listen to for long periods.' (Hi-Fi Choice Magazine 2014)
  • 'The Vena’s a solid effort from Quad. Greater subtlety could turn it into a brilliant amp... The Vena doesn’t shirk its responsibilities, placing tight, punchy drum thwacks alongside the track’s guitar riff.' (What Hi-Fi Magazine 2014)
  • 'The soundstage is still well organised and there’s plenty of detail and attack on offer when the chorus kicks off... the Vena is still an interesting proposition, not least because of the apparent shift by Quad to a more driven, potent sound... Vena is a good option to have in this flourishing sector of the market.' (What Hi-Fi Magazine 2014)
