Quad II Eighty mono valve power amplifier is a modern classic, designed by valve supremo Tim DeParavicini. The II Eighty is much more than a homage to the Peter Walker classic - it's a complete re-interpretaion of the philosophy.
Using 4 x KT-88s and a similar cathode coupled output, the lineage is clear to hear and see, but with such huge dynamic headroom, this amp is faster and with more control than any previous model.
Supplied in the beautiful champagne finish pictured. A perfect match paired with the Quad QC24 valve pre amplifier and/or Quad ESL 2805 or ESL 2905 speakers.

The Quad II-eighty is a capable monobloc amplifier that should be considered even by those who don’t have a taste for retro. The original Quad II mono produced around 15W output, but this new one is much stronger, registering 80W. That kind of output from a valve amp is good going, and means this monobloc is at home driving a wide range of speakers. There’s enough modern engineering here to really satisfy when it comes to sound quality, yet this power amplifier gives a real feel of the classic equipment it’s based on. (The Quad II-eighty was tested alongside the QC-twenty four preamp.) (What Hi-Fi Magazine)
