The Q Acoustics Concept 40 speakers build on the immense successes of the multi award-winning Concept 20, and are virtually unbeatable at the price point.
Q Acoustics engineers have worked tirelessly to replicate and extend the immense soundstage, dynamics and rhythm of the Concept 20. If you are after a good quality floorstanding speaker, the Concept 40 simply have to be on your audition list!
Based on Previous Designs
As Q Acoustics top of the range floorstanding speaker, and borrowing much from the design of the Concept 20, the Concept 40 have some big shoes to fill. As with the Concept 20, cabinet design and dampening has been a key focus with the Concept 40.
Q Acoustics' Gelcore technology has enabled the production of a very low resonance cabinet preventing colouration, allowing for the benefits in soundstage and dynamics of a floorstanding design without the associated colouration and lack of clarity.
Q Acoustics' bespoke drivers feature over-sized magnets to minimise cabinet resonance and thanks to a tripod stand, these speakers offer perfet rigidity and floor contact to enhance performance, isolation and decoupling. The Concept 40 are very sensitive at 90dB and so are easy to drive and pair with any good quality amplifier.
'The Concept 40s build on the brand’s strengths to deliver a wonderfully inviting sound' (What Hi-Fi? Magazine)
'FOR: Smooth, refined balance; Consistency across frequency range; Fine stereo imaging; Surprising sonic agility and composure; Impressive build' (What Hi-Fi? Magazine)
'Detail is good – helped by that well behaved cabinet – and there’s consistency to the way these speakers deliver all parts of the frequency spectrum.' (What Hi-Fi? Magazine)
'LIKE: Superlative imaging; easy musicality; intricate, detailed sound' (Hi-Fi Choice Magazine, June 2014)
'The Q Acoustics Concept 40 is an extremely able loudspeaker, and excellent value even at £1,000. It is amazingly well rounded, having practically no obvious weaknesses, and a whole lot of strengths. Right across the range - from detail and dynamics to tonal balance and musicality, it scores very highly indeed' (Hi-Fi Choice Magazine, June 2014)
'wonderfully clean and open, throwing the sound out as if they have dissolved out of the room, retaining only a ghostly vestigial presence. Bass is surprisingly strong for this modestly sized floorstander, and pleasingly even too' (Hi-Fi Choice Magazine, June 2014)
'what I like about this new floorstander is its naturalness; it doesn't shout out at you or fall over itself trying to impress you. Indeed it doesn't present much of a character at all, which is just as it should be. And for that reason it's well worth an audition. Highly recommended' (Hi-Fi Choice Magazine, June 2014)
'Superlative … brilliantly balanced package …. excellent value' (Hi-Fi Choice Magazine)
'Wonderfully clean and open ... bass is surprisingly strong … the mid-band is a joy' (Hi-Fi Choice Magazine)
