Featuring a pre-mounted cartridge and a built-in phono preamplifier and USB output, the Essential II Phono USB requires minimal fuss in setting up. The Essential II Phono USB is based around a quiet-running synchronous motor. The silicone belt drives a low-resonance MDF platter. A new motor control with DC power supply minimises unwanted vibration effectively. The main platter bearing consists of stainless steel spindle and bronze bushing with Teflon bottom to secure low friction. The main chassis is made from lightweight, but very stiff particle board.
The Essential II Phono USB uses a straight 8.6" aluminium tonearm, machined from a single piece of aluminium with sapphire bearings offering a greatly improved plug and play solution than the original Essential. The turntable is effectively decoupled from the surface and unwanted resonance by special feet.
