The Pro-Ject Essential II Phono USB is a turntable innovation for vinyl starters featuring class-leading sound quality and the capability to record your favourite vinyl records to a computer thanks to the USB output! Building on the successes of the popular entry-level Essential turntable, the Pro-Ject Essential II Phono USB offers the same superb sound quality with the addition of a new tonearm, USB output and other tweaks to the motor and platter.
Pro-Ject believe that the simpler a turntable, the better - the Essential II Phono USB is no exception! Featuring a pre-mounted cartridge and a built-in phono preamplifier and USB output, the Essential II Phono USB requires minimal fuss in setting up. Equally at home with music playback through your hi-fi system as recording your vinyls to a computer, the Essential II Phono USB really is a no-brainer when it comes to entry into the world of turntables!
The Essential II Phono USB is based around a quiet-running synchronous motor. The silicone belt drives a low-resonance MDF platter. A new motor control with DC power supply minimzes unwanted vibration effectively. The main platter bearing consists of stainless steelspindle and bronze bushing with Teflon bottom to seccure low friction. The main chassis is made from lightweight, but very stiff particle board.
The Essential II Phono USB uses a straight 8.6" aluminium tonearm, machined from a single piece of aluminium with sapphire bearings offering a graetly improved plug and play solution than the original Essential. The turntable is effectively decoupled from the surface and unwanted resonance by special feet.
