Product Description

The Ortofon Synergy A modernizes the classic SPU design with a number of optimisations designed for optimum compatibility and sonic purity - offering the same performance as the Synergy GM model, in a short-shell format. This model is therefore ideal for use with tonearms which require a cartridge with a shorter overhang.

The SPU Synergy features a wood-based housing and has a revised generator system which allows for a maximum output of 500µV, relaxing the requirement for high gain transformer or active preamplification systems. While still making use of a highly polished Nude Elliptical stylus, the stylus tip mass has been reduced significantly, resulting in reduced VTF and higher tracking ability.

SPU style cartridges are designed to fit onto old style tonearms which accept these type of cartridges and are not designed for use on most modern tonearms and turntables. If you are in doubt, please contact us before ordering for expert advice.
