Product Description
Ortofon SPU Royal N Phono Cartridge provides the same sound reproduction properties as the SPU Royal GM series but does not have an integrated headshell unit.
Performance
Electrum coils, consisting of a gold and silver alloy, provides uncoloured and precise transmission of armature movements while the slightly modified damping system makes it possible to reduce VTF and achieves a higher level of linearity.
The addition of Ortofon’s unique Replicant 100 stylus and reduced tip mass ensures open and detailed sound reproduction for a purely exquisite listening experience. High purity 6-nines copper wiring ensures impeccable signal transmission and preservation of the finest of microdynamic detail.
Headshell Unit
Listeners who wish to mount the SPU Royal N on a traditional headshell may do so by using SPU N adapter (sold separately). If you already own a vintage SPU-type headshell, you can use the Royal N to recreate an authentic and functional SPU cartridge.
Mounting
All SPU-cartridges are designed to bring optimum performance, when the tonearm mounted with the cartridge is adjusted parallel to the record surface, at recommended tracking force. When an antiskating adjustment is possible, Ortofon recommends a 50% higher value, when using SPU-cartridges with the Ortofon Replicant stylus, compared to normal setting at recommended tracking force.
