Product Description
The Ortofon 2M Bronze is the mid level cartridge in Ortofon's 2M range, offering high end performance at a very good price. It features a nude fine line stylus for minimum wear or distortion and has excellent frequency response.
Developed with Danish designer 'MøllerJensen Design', who was used for the award winning flagship Jubilee and the Kontrapunkt cartridges. The stylus is replaceable in future and the body even features tapped screw threads, so you can simply screw in the cartridge rather than fiddling around with nuts and bolts! Excellent performance.
Like the Ortofon Rondo and Ortofon Cadenza ranges, the Ortofon 2M range is based around an entry level red model, followed by a blue, bronze and flagship black model. The 2M Red and 2M Blue are accomplished value cartridges, but the 2M Bronze ups the ante even more and offers a deeper sound that gets more from your vinyl. A very close sound to the 2M Black at a lower price, the 2M Bronze is an excellent higher model moving magnet choice.
Press Reviews
-
"Tonally it's highly neutral, with treble, midrange and bass being neatly balanced. The treble is especially crisp, and you get a very detailed sound as a result ." (What Hi-Fi Magazine)
-
"The 2M Bronze is distinctive...bass comes across as light but tight...Highly detailed and insightful." (Hi-Fi World Magazine)
-
"If you like an analytical performance, this is for you. More than with most cartridges we've tested, we found that the sound from the 2M Bronze really gained cohesion and warmth following bedding-in. This is a cerebral and capable cartridge but, by trading emotion for analysis, the 2M Bronze misses out on that final star." (What Hi Fi Magazine Awards October 2013)
