Reference Version

UDP-205 Reference feats Oppo’s commanding quad-core image processing and ES9038PRO 32-bit DAC with a motherboard especially modified to perfect the skill of image and sound quality.

Low Noise Linear Power Supply

Ordinarily Blu-ray player’s use switch mode power supplies (SMPS). The switching from these power supplies introduces noise which inevitably is introduced to the circuitry. Due to the high-frequency switching of these supplies, they also create RFI which in turn affects the video and audio signal. In contrast, the 205 Reference utilises a top-end linear power supply with components specially selected for their low noise performance to deliver quiet, clean power to the circuitry.

The advantage is a substantial advance in all gamut of the player's presentation. For video, there is superior detail, realer colours, a more lively contrast, enhanced image solidity, and better depth. Digital and analogue audio is also notably improved with better timing, increased resolution, greater depth, and improved soundstage.

Improved Disc Read Accuracy

Audiocom discovered during disc playback that reducing interference fields and resonances in the disc transport could improve the performance of video and audio quality. For the 4K disc loader, they apply a specialist material layer coating developed to absorb electromagnetic (RFI/EMI) energy, reduce static and cancel out unwanted resonances. The consequence is upgraded disc read precision, with enhanced colours and surfaces for a further accurate depiction quality.

Audio Power Supplies

Analogue audio sound value is principally inclined by its power source. Audiocom's goal is to reduce unwanted noise and losses that affect the signal, less noise = cleaner signal and purer sound.
