Product Description

Mission QX-3 Speakers are the first floor-standing speaker models in the new QX range, featuring a two-way design and dual 5" long fibre composite cone bass drivers coupled with a 1.5" textile ring dome treble driver.

Audio Expertise

Drawing on over four decades of audio experience, Mission’s all new QX speaker range boasts stunning aesthetics and extraordinary performance granting remarkable value in either a hi-fi or AV system. Complex new designs and exacting, lengthy listening tests have produced a speaker that contributes a thrilling and dramatic performance, regardless of your choice of music or movies.

The Design Concept

QX series was conceptualised to fuse sophisticated engineering with a greatly attractive and distinguishable design that allows the speakers to fit seamlessly into the contemporary home. The look of the front panel suggests the advanced technology inside whilst presenting a stunning visual to the listener. Five core hi-fi models; 2 bookshelf designs and 3 floor standing speakers are joined in the Mission QX range by a dedicated centre speaker, two-way surround speaker and selection of subwoofers.

Reverse Geometry Driven

Mission QX series utilises Mission’s classic IDG (Inverted Driver Geometry) driver format. By positioning the treble unit below the bass/midrange driver, the length of path is equalised so the sound waves coincide at the listener’s head height. This principle improves ‘time alignment’.

Dual ring radiator

Mission’s exclusive ‘ring dome’ utilises a woven, textile material formed in a double ring arrangement. The combination of textile dome and multi-ring surround applied optimum stiffness to the maximum radiating area. New ‘ring dome’ treble unit offers high levels of musical detail with low distortion - the usual dome cavitation effects are completely avoided

Mission DiaDrive system

Twin rear cavity non-reflecting design vents back pressure from the diaphragm to a twin rear cavity, reducing resonance and maintaining a wide operating bandwidth. Natural midrange quality with superb bass transient impact is provided by a seam-free curvilinear cone formulated from a mixture of soft pulp and acrylic fiber specially designed for midrange clarity and lucidity.

DiaDrive Twin Cone Design

Backing the curvilinear front cone is a stiff, conical support with increased area of contact with the voice coil for outstanding transient impact. The drive unit surround and fixing screws are cleverly concealed behind the unique comb-tooth trim design giving a highly technical look to the front face of the speaker.

Aluminium Top Plate

The inclusion of aluminium top and bottom plates to the cabinet not only gives an attractive, high tech appearance to the speakers but also enhances sound quality. The added mass and stiffness reduces resonance from the cabinet walls, lowering colouration and distortion.

Ribbon-Like Slot Port

The new slot port design features ribs to enhance airflow and avoid the 'chuffing' so often heard from bass-reflex ports. The result is enhanced low-frequency performance with lower distortion.

Key Features

- Advanced DiaDrive cone system has front inverted dome cone delivers smooth response
- This is driven by secondary sub cone for maximum transient impact from the motor system
- Oversized magnet motor system offers high sensitivity for best dynamic impact from any amp
- New ‘ring dome’ treble unit offers high levels of musical detail with low distortion
- Slot port is profiled to reduce ‘chuffing’ distortion, yielding accurate bass performance
- Carefully crafted acoustic crossover slopes achieve perfect integration between the drivers
- Crossover uses laminated iron core bass coil & audiophile standard polypropylene capacitors
- Crossover is spaced on the PCB to avoid magnetic field interaction
