Product Description

Meridian 271 Digital Theatre Controller effortlessly integrates with the Meridian DSP loudspeakers any analogue or digital AV processor on the market which would otherwise be unable to access the authentic, natural sound from Meridian.

Rack Mountable

This high-resolution interface allows you to design and build high-performance theatre systems with 20 or more channels. Rack-mountable, 271 can be stacked to give 40 or even 60 audio output channels all with Meridian’s (MHR) High Resolution Audio output and a simple IP control interface.

Linear Power

For the greatest audio performance and reliability, Meridian use their well-developed experience in power supply design by deploying a toroidal transformer and high-quality Linear Power Supply.

High Resolution

MHR was the first approved encryption method for transferring high definition digital audio between components. MHR allows secure movement of high resolution, low jitter digital audio within a Meridian system, without compromise, improving quality by reducing cyclic repetition.

Digital Controller

The Meridian 271 has 16 channels of analogue audio on any combination of single-ended or balanced input connections (RCA or 2 x 8 channel DB25 connectors) or 16 + 4 digital audio outputs on SpeakerLink connections for use with Meridian DSP loudspeakers using high precision 96kHz / 24-bit analogue to digital conversion. Analogue audio outputs are 16 + 4 on unbalanced RCA connectors to allow the use of passive loudspeakers.

Connectivity

Optional balanced digital input options are available to support 16 channels of digital audio fed from Trinnov, Datasat and Storm Audio processors (2 x RJ45 and 1 x DB25). Inputs 1 to 16 are mapped “in parallel” to both sets of 16 outputs; analogue and digital, providing support for mixed systems using combinations of analogue and Meridian DSP loudspeakers.

The two sets of four additional outputs (four digital and four analogue) can be independently configured to duplicate any of the 16 input channels to provide feeds for a wide range of combinations of loudspeakers and subwoofers.

SpeakerLink

SpeakerLink input is included for feeding your Meridian source into your main left and right loudspeakers. 271 is controllable via Ethernet using the same IP protocol as used on other Meridian products or via Meridian Comms from other Meridian products.

Also, trigger input and output connections allow co-ordinated switching of components within systems using a mix of speaker types. Configuration can be set via in-built web page to select all installation options.

Key Features

- Easily control via Ethernet using IP Control and third-party control drivers
- 'Comms' allows control from DSP Speaker using MSR+ remote or via SpeakerLink
- 3.5mm trigger enables installation ‘in-line’ between a processor and power amp
