Product Description

JVC DLA-X9900B is a 3D THX-certified 4K-resolution D-ILA Projector features an exceptional 2000 lumen brightness, proprietary 4K e-Shift5 technology and an ultimate dynamic contrast ratio of 1,600,000:1. It is compatible with HDMI standard (4K60P 4:4:4)and HDCP 2.2.

Proprietary D-ILA

The 6th generation device, which has an even narrower gap between pixels achieves brighter images rich with contrast. The X9900 is has been designed to fully complement ultra-high resolution 4K images with precise image expression and virtually no screen-door effect. The input signals to the projector are initially processed with an algorithm that combined with the Intelligent Lens Aperture, it controls the level of black in the image automatically. The projector has a fantastic dynamic range which results in high brightness, and delivers a sensational 4K video full of reality.

Motion Image Processing

Two leading cutting edge technologies are featured on the D-ILA projectors, Clear Motion Drive that is compatible with 4K60P 4:4:4 signals and Motion Enhance technology that controls the driving performance. Owing to these two new technologies, the projector is capable of reduced ghosting or afterimage problems which can occur with fast moving images, and therefore this projector presents such images crisply and smoothly.

4K e-shift5

The projectors in the e-shift5 range utilise e-shift technology, which shifts sub-frames by 0.5 pixels horizontally and vertically, achieving four times the pixel density of the initial signal. At present, e-shift5 technology is using a new algorithms that results in an increase in diagonal detection precision which gives an even higher definition and improved picture quality.

Memory Zoom

At the touch of a button, transform 1.78:1 black border movies to a full-size cinemascope when using a 2.35:1 projection screen. Achieve a true cinemascope experience with 9 memory zoom programmable presets for separate lens adjustments for zoom, shift and focus that can be easily recalled when needed.

HDCP 2.2 and HDR

This projector complies with the latest HDMI/HDCP 2.2 standard to enable full spec 4K signal input up to 4K60P 4:4:4. The projector changes automatically when HDR10 signals are detected and it switches to HDR mode. To ensure this projector is compatible with copyrighted content such as OTT video services and the UHD Blu-ray discs, the projectors comply with the latest HDMI standard and HDCP 2.2.

Colour Management

The colour reproduction ability on the original Real Colour Imaging Technology has improved with its capability to accurately grasp the colour information for precise reproduction. The use of a new colour filter covers the whole DCI colour space, therefore the projector is able to reproduce colours true to their original, which shows a truly exceptionally 4K images. The colours are processed in the form of a matrix with 6-axis, which splits reds, greens, blues, cyan, magenta, and yellows and therefore enables precision adjustment of hue, saturation, and intensity. Only the colour that is being adjusted, is shown, the others are not being adjusted are coloured with a grey tone, making the operation more intuitive.

Ultimate Dynamic Contrast

The X990 has an the ultimate in dynamic contrast ratio of 1,600,000:1 and a native contrast ratio of 160,000:1 which it achieves with the D-ILA and the high-output lamp. The combination of a high-output lamp (265W) and the very efficient optical engine on D-ILA projectors means they can represent light at 2000 lumens intensity. Also, smooth powerful images can be shown through JVC’s original D-ILA device with an even narrower gap between pixels which means the light is used efficiently. The X990 will show strong, vivid 4K high-definition video, that are highly detailed even in light conditions, when it is hard to block out the light, such as living rooms, that are not normally suited for high-definition video presentations.

Low Latency Mode

D-ILA projectors have an improved Low Latency Mode , ensuring fast responses for computer or console content. In addition, when the low latency mode is active wide bandwidth signals like 4K with a 10-bit or 12-bit colour depth can be processed free from compression, which results in a high-quality visual display without any noticeable deterioration, irrespective of source. The Hybrid Log-Gamma also proves improvement in quality for a highly realistic visual appearance, allowing you to enjoy your favourite TV shows and films like never before.

Auto Calibration

Setting up the projector is relatively simple, using an optical sensor, the picture can be accurately calibrated in a few simple steps, matching the optical changes which are due to the installed position of the projector. The Auto-Calibration optimises the essential components of an image, such as the colour balance, space, and tracking, as well as the gamma characteristics. Using Pixel Adjust gives the viewer the ability to precisely correct colour deviations in 1/16 pixel increments. Pixel adjustment segments the screen into 121 points and adjusts them individually to create a clear video without affecting colour. The projector automatically selects the optimum mode to match to the screen the image is being projected onto, with a natural balance of colour. The modes are compatible with the latest models offered by the world’s major screen manufacturers.

Multi-Pixel Control

The X9900 utilises high performing image processing technology, such as Multiple Pixel Control (MPC). MPC is an algorithm, capable of accurate diagonal detection between the image frames, with either full High-Definition or 4K  signals, which results in a thoroughly immersive high definition 4K image. Comparing MPC to other conventional band processing technology, it is apparent that MPC is superior in producing true to reality 4K images by image detection and processing in a higher frequency range, than conventional projectors, and consequently achieves exceptional presence.

Industry Certified

X990 is certified with THX 3D Display, which was established to distinguish projectors capable of precisely reproducing picture quality in home environments for both 2D and 3D content just as the original filmmaker envisioned. To be awarded THX certification the X9900 has gone through in excess of 400 lab tests, evaluating the projector’s accuracy in colour representation, cross-talk, viewing angles and video processing, to confirm that it is highly capable high-definition quality.
