Why use a Headphones Amplifier?

The "Headphones" output on many amplifiers, portable players and other devices isn't optimised to drive a range of earphones and headphones effectively. Many are last minute additions, included to up the feature count rather than offer the best possible sound.

A dedicated headphone amplifier is designed to drive your headphones effectively, offer the best sound quality from your portable player and in this case includes adjustable gain to match to your headphones or earphones perfectly. In addition, you can use your headphone amplifier with an iPod Dock - 3.5mm cable which bypasses the noisy internal volume control and turns your iPod into a higher quality music source.

Digital to Analogue Convertor (DAC)

The iBasso D2+ Boa features a high quality DAC to connect the digital output from your computer, laptop or any other device directly to the iBasso and use its high quality internal DAC. This should offer much better quality conversion of digital data into audio than the "lesser" DACs in most laptops and sound cards.
