Product Description

JVC DLA-X9500 D-ILA 4K Home Cinema Projector features 2000lm brightness, two full speed 18Gbps HDMI inputs with HDCP 2.2 for brilliant 4K UHD pictures and 4:4:4 colour sampling. 

Adding to this, there is an Auto HDR picture preset for best compatibility with UHD 4K HDR content, a low latency mode for improved gaming and Hybrid Log Gamma for future HDR broadcast and streaming content.


There is a new 265W High-Power Lamp & Narrow Pixel Gap, dynamic contrast ratio of 1,600,000:1 along with a Native contrast ratio of 160,000:1 for enhanced brightness and contrast. Motion Enhance Technology reduces residual images and blurring that are often found in fast-moving images by optimally controlling the drive of D-ILA devices.

The improved Multiple Pixel Control (MPC) uses a new analysis algorithm capable of more accurate diagonal-detection between frames for full HD and 4K resolution signals. New Low-Latency Mode suppresses display delay for faster response signals from PC and game consoles. HDR10 and HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) broadcast HDR are also supported. Auto-detect HDR Picture Mode switches automatically to HDR picture mode when HDR10 signals are received for easy reproduction.

4K e-Shift4

Native 4K sources provide a significant boost in picture quality. From the original 4K data JVC creates an A and B frame with no interpolation. Through a proprietary process, the correct pixels are selected for each frame. The projector works at double the conventional speed, then the 4K e-shift mechanism shifts each B frame down and over ½ a pixel. This creates four 4K sub-pixels in the space of one conventional HD pixel.

The viewers’ eyes and brain combine the A and B frame to create the projected 4K e-shift image. Full HD Signals are scaled to 4K with exclusive Multi-Pixel Control. The projector detects the original resolution then analyses the data frame by frame & pixel by pixel. Detail enhancement, dynamic contrast and smoothing are selectively applied and from that data, individual frames are created and displayed

3 Chip D-ILA

Featuring JVC’s 6th Generation D-ILA design, the projector is given a narrower pixel gap, an improved wire grid, brightness and higher native contrast. D-ILA is a proprietary form of Liquid Crystal on Silicon. Because it is reflective, D-ILA is highly efficient, offering excellent brightness for today's most demanding sources, including 3D. This provides a remarkable picture with ample contrast even in a room with ambient light.

JVC's exclusive 3-Chip D-ILA light engine provides the highest resolution and best picture detail. Improved pixel alignment with negligible space between pixels ensures the greatest contrast and the highest light efficiency. Unique polarized wire grid system further improves contrast and reduces light leakage. D-ILA is characterised by natural pixel-free images with smooth greyscale and rich, highly accurate colours. D-ILA chips eliminate noise in the low black levels.

Intelligent Lens

Contrast ratio describes a device's ability to reproduce deep blacks and bright whites. JVC offers the highest Native Contrast in the industry and this has been the defining feature for their D-ILA projectors for years. When engaged, the Intelligent Lens Aperture opens or closes to provide deeper blacks or brighter whites, as needed for a particular scene. This would not be possible without the outstanding Native Contrast that JVC offers as a foundation.

Lens Design

Lens memory makes it possible to maintain a constant viewing height with various aspect ratios. DLA-X9500 offers 10 Lens Memories to support the widest range of formats. The premium lens offers the highest resolution and easiest installation. With a 100" wide screen, a 2X Zoom makes it possible to set up the projector as close as 11 feet or as far away as 23 feet. The ±80% vertical and ±34% horizontal lens shift enables far more flexibility in setting up the projector so it does not need to be perfectly centered with the screen.A motorised lens cover opens and closes in synchronisation with power on/off to protect against dust. Even if the projector is installed on the ceiling, you are assured of easy, trouble-free operation via the remote control.


X9500 enables trained professionals to calibrate the projector to specific screen surfaces, lighting environments and video sources. These precise settings are stored in the projector to ensure reproduction of film or video content faithful to the source with excellent picture quality in all viewing situations. The DLA-X9000 offers THX 3D Display Certification attained after more than 400 laboratory tests evaluating colour accuracy, cross-talk, viewing angles and video processing to ensure the high quality 3D and 2D display performance that home theater enthusiasts demand.

THX Cinema 3D

Today, JVC studio monitors are used in movie production and broadcast quality JVC processors are the defacto standard for advanced 2D-3D conversion. All JVC X-Series models are 3D enabled. JVC uses a Frame Sequential Method that provides a full 1920 x 1080 resolution to each eye without crosstalk and flicker. JVC D-ILA projectors make it possible to enjoy 3D with an engaging cinematic size that even the largest flat panel TV just can't match.

THX 3D display offers a simple one-button solution for optimised 2D/3D playback. THX Cinema Mode is automatically selected with 2D sources to ensure optimum colour reproduction, luminance, blacks, gamma and video processing. It also extends this same level of accuracy for 3D and is designed to deliver highly accurate colour while minimising sources of cross-talk and flicker. For further fine-tuning, all THX Modes can be accessed by THX Professional Calibrators.

Color Management System

All 4K e-shift models feature a 7-Axis Color Management System. In addition to the ordinary 6-axis matrix of red, green, blue, cyan, magenta and yellow; a seventh matrix for orange is included. The CMS provides for precise adjustment of hue, saturation and brightness for each colour to allow accurate calibration of the projector's colour gamut. The addition of the orange axis also helps pinpoint the color spectrum for skin tones. For improved operability, only the color being adjusted is shown on the screen while the others are displayed in black and white.

Remote Control

X9500 features a user-friendly, ergonomic remote with full illumination. Direct access keys are provided for virtually every possible picture adjustment. Discrete power on/off controls & codes are essential for system integration. A wide variety of methods are available for system control. It has a 12V trigger that can be configured for use with either a motorised screen or with an anamorphic lens. RS-232 and LAN connections are provided for more advanced system integration. Full remote control of the projector is possible via the most popular Android and iOS smart devices when connected to a wireless router.
