Product Description

Meridian Media Source 200 audio end point, with the ability to access any of the facilities of a Meridian digital media system, the Meridian Media Source 200 Audio End point can play back selections from the media library, internet radio and other sources.

Exceptionally simple to use, it is operated by the Control 15 touchscreen, wirelessly from the free iPhone or iPad app or any other available system controller. Basic configuration is automatic while advanced features are configured via a web browser.

The rear panel features a 3.5mm combination analogue/digital jack supplying stereo analogue line-level signals or S/PDIF digital optical signals, allowing it to be connected either to digital or analogue audio systems. An RJ45 SpeakerLink output allows the unit to be connected direct to a pair of Meridian DSP Loudspeakers or a component, such the Audio Core 200, with a SpeakerLink input. An external power supply is also included for operation where the Media Source 200 is not connected to a compatible SpeakerLink product.

Compact enclosure

Featuring an elegant, compact aluminium enclosure, it has moulded endcaps for easy positioning. Connectors are mounted at one end and LED indicators behind an infrared receptor window at the other, allowing the unit to receive IR commands for an entire Meridian audio system. Designed to be freestanding or installed in conjunction with Meridian’s line of in-wall loudspeakers, it mounts in the loudspeaker enclosure creating an discreet, almost invisible Meridian Digital Media System Zone.

Audio enhancement

Media Source 200 includes the latest of Meridian’s audio enhancement technologies allowing you to listen to your collection in the highest possible quality. Meridian Digital Media Systems already store your music in lossless FLAC files – bit-accurate copies of the original source material. Media Source 200 delivers the best from your library, thanks to Meridian’s proprietary ‘apodising’ up sampling filter, which maximises digital audio quality and can even improve the sound of older digital recordings.

The Media Source 200 can be configured using its internal web interface, which can be accessed over the network from any device that supports a web browser. This provides a range of information and settings, including audio output levels, IR receiver configuration, start up source selection and Ethernet configuration. In addition, the web interface (shown at right) allows the configuration of attached Meridian DSP Loudspeakers. This makes it possible to create a Meridian Digital Media System Zone simply with a pair of DSP Loudspeakers plus the Media Source 200.

Front panel

The front panel consists of an IR reception window behind which are mounted 3 LEDs. The left LED indicates IR reception. The centre LED flashes during start-up, is dim during standby, and is bright during normal operation. The right-hand LED indicates a network connection issue.
