Burson Audio is proud to announce the new Conductor V2 with superior sound and more power, setting a new benchmark in the reference class category. Thanks to a new high density winding technique, the new power transformers that support the headphone amp and preamp section are able to output twice as much power.
The entire circuitry has been redesigned based on new V5 SS opamp which is the best sounding audio opamp in the world. While still a pure Class A designed with Field Effect Transistors, Conductor V2 fully utilizes the two 70W transformers to output over 8200 mW per channel into 16ohm.
It will comfortably drive the toughest headphone in the world while delicately handling the most sensitive. Holding over 4 watts of power on tap, the headphone amplifier section works as a highly acclaimed soloist while the preamp functions makes it the centre of a headphone or speaker based desktop system with headphone option.

The PGA2310 is the flagship volume control chip offered by Texas Instruments. With an impressive dynamic range of 120dB and 0.0004 THD measurement, it is the go to solution for pro audio applications and broadcast studios, allowing for a 0.5dB per step of fine control to Conductor V2. With the PGA2310 the Conductor V2 operate smoothly and silently with no mechanical moving parts.
It will serve you seamlessly for years to come! At the heart of our new volume control is Burr-Brown’s flagship analog PGA2310. It offer a set of impressive specification such like 120dB dynamic rang and 0.0004% THD @ 1khz. Of course, specifications alone doesn’t make it worthy of the Burson brand.
The PGA2310 possesses two main components; a set of resistor networks and an op-amp output stage. (An op-amp output stage? We’ll come to that.) The resistor network allows for an amazing 0.5db steps of fine control with channel matching within 0.05%. Compare that to conventional motorized volume controls which can only match channels to 7-10%.
Burson’s secret sauce is setting the PGA2310’s op-amp output stage to unity gain so it essentially acts as a purely resistive volume control. This arrangement avoids any coloration the op-amp output stage may inject into the audio signal. The result is an extremely high-resolution 100-step volume control that preserves power, nuance and the many fine details that make music come alive.
Upgrade in a Snap
If you want more from the Conductor V2, upgrading is a snap! With our modularized design, a reference class DAC PCB can be added which allows for TOS link, Coaxial Input that supports up to 24bit 192K of input.
Furthermore, you could add the latest XMOS USB module that supports most IOS & Android devices, up to 32bit/364K sampling, 256DSD and DXD. Once all digital options are included, the reference class V2 becomes a V2+. (link)
Best Digital Front
Sabre32 DAC is the most expensive and highest performing DAC chip in the world. For the new Conductor V2+, we had to completely redesign all the support circuits around the Sabre chip in order to take its performance to a new high. The new output stage of the DAC has been improved based on the new V5 SS audio opamp. Pure Class A, the new output stage with the V5 opamp DNA is able to reveal micro dynamic that others can only dream of.
The new DAC design also utilizes the DSP Volume control that is built in the Saber 32 DAC. Refined and upgraded from previous models, the Burson Conductor Virtuoso incorporates 100 steps of volume control with a user friendly display that presents volume indicators on the face of the robust antiresonant aluminium front plate.
The flagship XMOS 6 core USB module is considered by many to be the best digital interface on the market. The XMOS module allows for 32bit 346k sample and DSD 256 streaming. The Conductor V2 implementation employs triple low jitter clock structure for the highest level of jitter correction.
The XMOS interface offer the highest level of connectivity from desktop Windows based system and OSX to major mobile platform like IOS and androids. The conductor V2 will allow you to playback your digital content with the highest level of fidelity regardless of the operating platform.
