24 Feb 2017I have been an avid amp swapper/upgrader for some 25 years. Have built high end class A amps (Pass/Hiraga etc) and also dabbled in Tubes, as well as a good number of SS commercial offerings. The Timekeeper Virtuoso is a superb amp without doubt. The control/speed and transparency are first class, yet never does the amp sound sterile or unforgiving. I have also got the Burson Conductor Virtuoso and the pair together are sublime. I know from conversations with Burson (I always throw questions at the manufacturer when I buy high end) that every component is without compromise - Burson themselves also have always responded to me in lightening time and will go the extra mile every time. I would expect that this amp (despite its small footprint) will drive pretty much any speaker out there with power to spare while 'only' 100w the current capabilities are something else. I'm glad I chose to ignore the normal bias toward UK/Chinese made equipment on many review sites.....Although Aussie hifi is less well known my experience with this lot (Burson) is that it needs more recognition.
7 Jan 2017I am an amp junkie. I have owned dozens and have been blessed to hear and borrow countless more. The Timekeeper Virtuoso is probably the finest amp I have ever heard, top to bottom. I heard no weaknesses. The power, grip, and speed of this amp are astonishing, even and especially with a passive preamp. It's transparency and detail rival my personal favorite Nelson Pass / Victor Campos design, yet this amp keeps a warmth and presentation that are never shrill. This would be my amp of choice over amps costing several times more.
