An ultimate portable player for discerning listeners, the Teac HA-P90 SD is a powerful headphone amplifier with flexible audio format support including DSD. 

High-Res Audio

Load the built-in micro SD card slot with high-resolution audio, up to 192kHz/24-bit or DSD at 2.8MHz or 5.6MHz. The integrated high-end Burr Brown PCM1795 converter plays audio from the card, USB input or from iOS/Android portable devices.

The headphone output driven by 170 mW is among the highest-powered amplifiers available and drives loads from 8 to 600 ohms. Supporting WAV, FLAC, MP3, AAC, DSF and DFF files, the HA-P90 SD delivers great-sounding audio in a fully aluminium robust chassis.


With a digital music player enabling convenient portable enjoyment of PCM or DSD recordings, the Teac HA-P90SD ensures you receive ultimate sound quality even while on the move. The amplifier combines the dual functions of a high-quality portable amplifier and a DSD native-compatible player.

Blackfin Processor

Featuring the Analog Devices high-performance Blackfin processor and embedded OS, the headphone amplifier lowers power consumption facilitating playback times of approximately 6 hours even when a high-resolution source requires large volumes of digital information to be processed.

Precise Master Clock

Dual precise crystal oscillators in the master clock play a critical role in digital audio reproduction. Using two dedicated clocks for each of the system’s multiple sampling frequencies allows flawless synchronisation with playback file sampling rates and highly accurate Digital to Analogue conversion.

Also asynchronous-compatible, it does not rely on the PC clock during USB connection making clear playback sound quality possible with remarkable noise suppression characteristics.

Strategic Components

The Teac HA-P90 SD AB-class headphone amplifier incorporates a discrete component configuration using an operational amplifier and push-pull circuitry.

Technology previously accumulated and proven successful by TEAC was invested in this circuit design allowing it to achieve a 10Hz – 80kHz frequency range and a signal to noise ratio exceeding 105dB along with an impressive 0.004% total harmonic distortion.

Noise Suppression

Vertically separated analogue and digital sections of the amplifier’s circuit board layout eliminates unwanted noise due to inter-circuit interference. Noise-generated distortion is also greatly reduced. Noise-suppression circuitry enables clear sound output further, transmitting the finest intricacies of the original, high-resolution sound source. The low-impedance design also significantly enhances low-level sound reproduction.

Automatic sorting

Tag information for music tracks recorded onto a microSD card can be read and sorted by track name, album, artist and genre, and easily viewed on the front panel display. Playlists created using the TEAC Audio Player application can be edited and read on both PCs and Macs, and favourites lists can also be easily created using the HA-P90SD’s front panel controls. Repeat or Shuffle playback can be quickly selected, and Gapless playback can be turned on or off through the user settings.


Choose a total of 8 output levels from 4 different optimum attenuator outputs and switching between Low/High gain settings. This enables maximum output signal for a wide range of headphone/earphone impedances and efficiencies. The HA-P90SD has coaxial and optical digital inputs to accept digital signals from other players.

The multifunction 4-way switch pad located in the centre of the front panel provides easy fingertip control of Play/Pause, Fast Forward, Rewind and Home functions. With single-hand operation, any desired music file can be quickly selected from a recorded microSD card inserted into its card receptacle, and instantly played.
