Product Description

Edwards Audio TT3SE Turntable, SE version of the top of the range TT3, is a stunning design that is defined by its 25mm gloss finished Medite upper plinth and additional lower Medite MDF satin finished platform into which the 230V motor is mounted.

The isolated top plinth is where the TA202 arm and bearing housing is mounted. This effortlessly sleek turntable is available in gloss black, white and red, so it is sure to enhance the look, as well as sound, of any room.

Upgraded Tonearm

Featuring a solid brass in-house made counterweight and spigot, the TA202 arm is an upgraded and modified version of the Edwards Audio EA202. In order to reduce noise from being injected into your phono stage, the outputs are wired directly to rear mounted RCA sockets with a separate grounding.

What's more, the arm showcases a precision made brass bearing housing. The Rega derived tonearm features a rigid brass counterweight and no external arm wire - instead, there are phono sockets on the rear of the plinth, allowing the use of any suitable interconnect cable. So all you need to do is add a cartridge and cable and it’s ready to go.

Impeccable Craftsmanship

The model's in-house machined aluminium inner platter showcases a very accurate stainless shaft and is hand clocked for complete accuracy. It operates on a bespoke ceramic ruby 5mm bearing and this runs in a uniquely produced synthetic machine oil that has been designed for Formula 1 applications, which illustrates the brand's cutting-edge engineering practices.

The model is finished with an in-house, fully machined, 22 mm bespoke acrylic platter which is driven by the Edwards Audio's own ‘Little Belter’ Blue belt. It is supported on three rubber isolation feet, which is specially designed to complement the turntable's mass.

Special Edition

The TT3SE is a completely new turntable design from Edwards Audio, and I feel it features an unusually high specification for a turntable at this price point. The plinth is a double layer design which helps separate the motor and power supply from the tonearm and main bearing, which serves to reduce physically transmitted noise. A thick 22mm acrylic platter is supported by an aluminium hub, which itself runs on a low friction sapphire bearing. A custom made AC motor is used and the power supply features DC blocking to further reduce noise.

Tonally Balanced

The TT3SE is a seriously good sounding turntable, it has a sound that is clean and open, with great focus and separation - almost certainly a result of the work done to control vibration within the plinth and platter. There are impressive dynamics on display too, with transients having an excellent speed of attack and a natural decay. Tonally it’s very well balanced, the lack of obvious colouration shows itself across the board.

I hooked up the Edwards TT3 to a Nagaoka MP300 Cartridge and a Lounge Audio MK III Phono Amp and the result was spectacular.
Great isolation/dampening through the plinth, even when using and moving the dustcover.
    Ultra-quiet playback!
A great TT for anyone serious about playing albums.
