Ecosse Reference Cables MS2.15 solid core is an award winning, high-performance, full bandwidth speaker cable that offers Ecosse "giant beating" monocrystal cable performance and has come out best in its class in group testing, available in a selection of lengths and termination options.
It may be acknowledged that many amplifier and speaker combinations can exhibit many strengths, but can suffer well documented slight upper-mid glare and treble edginess (and/or overemphasised bass). The greater strengths of this 1.5 sq mm solidcore conductors ( perfectly circular) provide the solution to this problem.
The occupation area for the mid and high frequency signals in a solidcore conductor is greater than a stranded conductor of similar X-section, therefore resistance is reduced and delivery of high frequency information is improved and even extended. Low DC resistance meanwhile maintains low frequency extension and control, presenting it with weight, speed and perfect pitch accuracy.
The result is an improved sense of ambience and larger soundstage; vocals are clearer with real presence and natural breath tones; glare and edginess give way to a sweeter and more detailed treble.
This cable is terminated either with 4mm banana plugs on both ends, 4mm banana plugs to spade plugs or spade plugs to spade plugs (the cable is not directional). If you require a custom length not advertised, please call or e-mail for a quote (see our contact details).
Dynamics were simply more 'dynamic' while it took but a few seconds of Jazz at the Pawnshop to take us right intop the smokey confines of the club. and when the brass and percussion started up - wow - their playing was full of convincing vigour' (Hi-Fi News magazine)
'Our instant reaction to this cable was also out lasting impression - smooth, 'quiet' and inherently detailed. Black Rhodium's Samba had also sounded smooth, but the MS2.15 did not share its laziness as Eleanor McEvoy's strings were strummed with a greater urgency and The Temptations sounded less like a vintage recording, the MS2.15 allowing the original energy of the piece to suffuse its performance. There's no added brilliance but any lack of 'zing' is not to be confused with a lack of the finest detail. Keuy to this is its rejection of edge-of-perception 'hash', so the bass line to SEal's 'Killer' sounded incredibly tight and powerful, the rum beats thundering across with crisp efficiency from a percetibly black background' (Hi-Fi News magazine)
'...a very sophisticated-sounding cable nonetheless, and one through which music possesses all the poise and refinement that your system might muster. It reveals a lovely sense of space and air around a recording's individual elements but with no sense of the music being forced of glided. Cables don't come much more simpler, or more elegant' (Hi-Fi News magazine)
'...an outstanding one from the Monocrystal™ types especially the purity and clarity available from the solidcore' (Hi-Fi News magazine)
