The Dali Opticon LCR speaker combines the best of Dali's cutting edge technology into a slim wall mounted cabinet. Built for ultimate flexibility and performance, it produces airy highs, a detailed mid-range and a surprising bass for larger than life performances every time. The rotatable LCR speaker can be used as an independent 2.0 system or as the centre channel in a larger set-up, delivering audacious audio via a 6½" low-loss Wood Fibre Woofer, to create an ultimate sound solution.
The mounting of the drivers and the final tests and approvals on each and every speaker is also handled directly at our own assembly lines in our Danish factory. Added to this speaker is our rotatable Hybrid Tweeter module and, finishing the ear-delighting effect, an advanced bass port configuration built into the back panel which uses the wall on which it is mounted to extend its acoustic properties. The result is truly astounding bass response despite a compact cabinet, without the need for an additional subwoofer in your sound set-up.
The Opticon LCR relies on the bass reflex principle. The bass reflex port has been tuned to minimize distortion from the woofers and to control the time response of the roll-off from the bass system. Dali has taken bass port design to a new level, maximizing inner cabinet volume by moving the bass port to back of the speaker. Using most of the back of the OPTICON LCR and the wall to control the bass port airflow the LCR delivers bass at a level not expected from such a compact wall mounted speaker. Timing is the absolute keyword when tuning bass ports. Correct timing without any unwanted interaction between the drivers and frequencies creates a holographic soundstage.
DALI MDF CABINETS
Keeping the manufacturing of the OPTICON series firmly in the hands of DALI we utilize our large and efficient woodworking facility in Denmark to handle everything from cutting out the Medium Density Fibre board (MDF) cabinet to applying the vinyl.
In the OPTICON woofer magnet motor system the pole piece is purely constructed of SMC (Soft Magnetic Compound). SMC’s unique ability to deliver a high magnetic conductivity and a very low electrical conductivity delivers all the wanted qualities of a really good speaker magnet without the traditional downsides.
The Opticon LCR features the same low-loss Wood Fibre Woofer found in our flagship EPICON series, alongside our unique SMC magnet motor system and a reworked version of our Hybrid Tweeter module also found in the Rubicon, all of which works together along with a individual bass reflex port for the woofer to produce audio exactly as the recording artist originally envisioned it.
Dali Opticon is essentially a replacement for the older Dali Ikon range, building on Dali's success with the higher end Rubicon and Epicon speakers, bringing their experience with these higher end speakers into this stunning Opticon range while offering incredible value for money and a significant upgrade over the Dali Zensor range.
