Product Description

Dali Fazon F5 is the shape of brilliance - these speakers are nothing like any other speakers on the market, a genuine mixture of craftsmanship, performance, and aesthetics to fulfil the dream of live music sound at home. The F5 really are something very special and echo in a new era of loudspeaker design.

Technology is inherited from the Mentor series with neutral sound characteristics, undistorted performance, open sound, and extraordinary resolution. The oversized dome tweeter (28 mm/1.1"), integrating perfectly with 2 x 5" woofers/midranges, allows dynamics and even the finest musical details to flourish.

The visual appearance is stunning and speaks for itself: stylish, daring, and built on a unique aluminium body to ensure extremely rigid construction and minimized reflections. Because of the sophisticated curved shape, the Fazon F5 has no parallel sides, which prevents standing waves from arising. In a nutshell, they sound more natural and smoother, disappearing from the room leaving only music.

Press Reviews

  • 'Surely, for a serious audiophile, any decent conventional rival is going to stomp all over these resolutely style-led Dalis? Not so. While not flawless, the Fazon F5s deliver a hugely entertaining performance that, in some ways, is good enough to leave most traditional rivals struggling.' (What Hi-Fi? Magazine)

  • 'Stunning design, engagingly musical sound, impressive build, undemanding nature.' (What Hi-Fi? Magazine)

  • 'Stunning Design; engagingly musical sound, impressive build; undemanding nature... Fazon F5s deliver a hugely entertaining performance that, in some ways, is good enough to leave traditional rivals struggling.' (What Hi-Fi? Magazine, December 2011)

  • 'Rather than use orthodox materials, DALI, the Danish speaker specialist, has worked with die-cast aluminium to achieve a highly novel and elegant loudspeaker shape.' (Eisa Awards 2011-2012)

  • 'The FAZON F5 is a perfect symbiosis of form and function. Its unique shape also brings acoustic advantages. The quality of workmanship is excellent - as one has come to expect from the Danish company.' (Plus X Award following unveiling at Munich High End Hi-Fi Show 2011)

  • 'The F5s are a rare thing: a style product that delivers proper audiophile sound. The big news here is the use of aluminium cabinets. The enclosures are completed by a layered front baffle to create a rigid, nicely damped structure. The drive units are more conventional Dali fare; revised versions of those used in the company’s £2000 excellent Mentor 5 floorstanders. We’ve yet to find the perfect speaker at any price, so it comes as no surprise that there are some holes in the F5s’ performance. Yet, it’s rare that a speaker with so much attention to its aesthetics sounds so good. These are proper hi-fi.' (What Hi-Fi? Magazine)

On first glance you may think these speakers are made only for looks. I was looking at more traditional speakers and dismissed these until I heard them. How wrong I had been! These speakers sound spot on, so the styling is just a massive bonus. I'm not married so I don't have the need to try and 'please the wife' though even if I did I expect she wouldn't object to these speakers. I went for red for maximum statement and I'm running them with Cyrus X300s and Stream XP2qx. The best hi-fi set-up I've ever had. Don't dismiss these on looks, have a listen!
