SME has over 60 years experience in high precision engineering and have applied their extensive knowledge in the pursuit of high-end tonearms and turntables. The current range includes the iconic Series V tonearm and Model 20/3 turntable.

The initial SME experimental model was designed as a hobby, but it was appreciated so favourably that it went into commercial production. For SME to maintain their high standards of quality, all manufacturing processes are carried out 'in house'. The facilities that SME use in producing their products encompasses the production process; from tool making through to all aspects of manufacturing including CNC machining, pressure die-casting, injection moulding, metal finishing, electro-plating, anodising and many other parts of the manufacturing process.

The current product range includes five precision turntables and twelve standard pick-up arms which together with special models offer a very wide of applications. The SME precision pick-up arms are sold worldwide and are widely recognised as some of the finest available anywhere.
